Fare in Yalta on September 30 will be free of charge

Fare in Yalta on September 30 will be free of charge

The Yalta’s passenger carriers have decided to assist voters during the elections on September 30. On the day of elections the fixed route taxis will work free of charge in Yalta.

According to the press service of the Yalta’s mayor office, such decision was made on the initiative of the firms carries. On the day of voting the fare will be free of charge on all 48 routes.

As a reminder, the secretary of Yalta city council Olexiy Boyarchuk heads the Crimea election headquarters of the Party of Regions.

BYuT collected 7 million signatures for referendum

BYuT collected 7 million signatures for referendum

7 million 153 thousand signatures for holding a national referendum concerning new version of Ukraine’s constitution are collected throughout Ukraine. BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko said that today at a press conference in Rivne region.

BYuT is ready to pass these signatures to the President, and he, using article 72 of the Constitution of Ukraine, has right to issue a decree on Ukrainian referendum.

For this referendum BYuT proposes to set 9 questions, including form of governing, elections of judges, cancellation of immunity for heads of the State, judges and People’s deputies, strengthening of fight against corruption.

Yanukovych: Budget will be as it should be

Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych stated that state budget 2008 will be based on medium-term development of the country. He said that today in scope of his election tour to Kherson.

“The budget will be as it should be. Even if it has some changes in comparison to that one we have prepared, these changes will be not significant,” Yanukovych said.

He noted that the Government had foreseen almost everything. “Budget process is a process of collective creativity, that’s why it must determine priorities in the State. But what is more important – this budget must be a medium-term budget. Next budgets must be formed in such a way that they give possibility to continue programs begun today or a year ago,” Yanukovych explained.

Rybachuk took part in Oxford forum

Presidential Advisor Oleh Rybachuk took part in the third forum of the Caucasian-Caspian Commission in Oxford on September 21-23, President’s press office reports.

Its participants spoke about political, economic, security and energy issues. They also discussed the commission’s draft report to formulate new approaches to resolving frozen conflicts in the Caucasian-Caspian region.

Rybachuk said in his speech during the forum the European Union played a special – “consolidating” – role in settling such conflicts. He said the commission had been created to propose a plan for the region’s European development.

Rybachuk believes its cooperation and productive dialogue with the EU would help resolve these conflicts effectively and through peaceful means.

According to Rybachuk the Caucasian-Caspian region is becoming “more and more active in the geopolitical and economic aspects, so the attention of the international community to it is growing naturally.” He said Ukraine’s participation in this process was very important. “Our country continues to intensify its contribution to the system of regional security and this fact definitely strengthens Ukraine’s positions inthe EU membershipdialogue.”

Yatsenyuk: Ukraine must change procedure of its citizens registration abroad

The registration procedure of Ukrainian citizens abroad requires a number of conceptual amendments, Foreign Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said after visiting polling station ¹ 93 of the overseas election constituency in New York City, USA. According to the Minister, Ukrainians staying in other countries must be entitled to consular registration via the Internet, Cabinet’s press office reports.

Yatsenyuk believes that this should apply also to registration for participation in the elections. He said that the voting day turnout at the foreign election constituency is some 10 percent on the average, which is accounted for by the requirement to submit in person all the documents for consular registration and in case of personal data modifications.

The polling station ¹ 93 is expected to see the voting by Ukrainian citizens living in the states of Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

115 polling stations abroad will be created ahead of the September 30 parliamentary elections in Ukraine. Their voting lists, according to the Foreign Ministry, include over 420,000 individuals.

Blacksmiths made “Arches alley” in Donetsk (photo)

On September 22-23 IX International festival of blacksmith art “Park of forged sculprures-2007” took place in Donetsk.

Blacksmiths from Ukraine, the USA, Great Britain, Georgia, Russia, Czech Republic, Holland, Poland, Uzbekistan and Spain participated in this festival.

In scope of the festival, Ukrainian blacksmith conference; exhibition of authors masterpieces “Ornamental blacksmith”; 3d championship on blacksmith all-round events; opening of Arches Alley and mutual work of blacksmiths at “Arch of Friendship” took place.

After the festival some works and “Arches Alley” with “Arch of Friendship” were presented to the city.

Cabinet wants to prevent misuse at customs office

Cabinet wants to prevent misuse at customs office

The Government intends to form interdepartmental working group, which will prevent the misuse during customs clearance and realization of goods on the inner market.

The draft of the corresponding resolution has been discussed at today’s session of the Council of experts under the Ministry of Economy.

The representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the State customs service, the State tax administration of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian policy, the Security Service of Ukraine, Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Health, the Ukrainian Union of manufacturers and entrepreneurs will be in the composition of the committee.

Hrytsenko takes vacation

Since September 24 Defense Minister of Ukraine Anatoly Hrytsenko takes vacation to participate in final stage of election campaign.

According to Defense Ministry press service, Hrytsenko noted that he could not devote himself totally to election process because of intensive period of wide-ranging manoeuvres “Arteria-2007”.

“Now intensive phase of these trainings is finished with high positive result. That’s why I have possibility to communicate with people in regions for interests of “OU-PSD” bloc personally not by means of mass media,” Hrytsenko said.

Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko is the 4th number in the elections list for people’s deputies from elections bloc “Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense”.
