Yushchenko’s idea to provoke confrontations in Rada?

The chairman of the VRU Volodymyr Lytvyn says that on April 1 at the Conciliatory session the parliament will consider the changes to the Constitution, submitted by Viktor Yushchenko. He said that today at the briefing, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

Lytvyn said that the date of the holding of the presidential elections is also expected to be considered at the conciliatory session.

Answering the journalists question, Lytvyn predicted that during the consideration of the President’s propositions concerning the Constitution, there would be a confrontation of the draft laws.

 
As a reminder, Viktor Yushchenko has submitted his draft laws on changes into the Constitution of Ukraine.

Lytvyn expected more from Yushchenko

The chairman of the VRU Volodymyr Lytvyn stated on controversy of changes to the Constitution, submitted by the President. He said that today at the briefing, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

 
Commenting on the address of the President in the parliament, Lytvyn said he had expected more from the President, in particular, he expected more truthful estimation of the domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine.
 
He also said it turned to be a particular feature of all Presidents at the end of their term to speak about non-perfection of the Constitution.

President published 2008 income statement

In accordance with Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine on Fighting Corruption President Viktor Yushchenko has published his income statement, the president’s press office informed.

President Viktor Yushchenko has declared UAH 1.04 million of incomes for 2008.

ForUm reports, referring to the Ukrainian News.

According to the income declaration, members of the first family earned UAH 549,320 in 2008.

The largest article of incomes of Viktor Yushchenko is dividends, interests and royalties – UAH 549,040.

According to the income declaration, the Ukrainian President received UAH 492,020 as salary in 2008.

The family of President Viktor Yushchenko earned the largest sum from entrepreneurship and independent professional activities – UAH 455,965. The first family earned UAH 93,355 from dividends, interests and royalty.

Viktor Yushchenko has declared as his property a house of 656.7 square meters and a flat of 371.9 square meters. Members of the first family own a flat of 300 square meters.

According to the income declaration, Viktor Yushchenko owns a land plot of 131,385 square meters and members of his family own a land plot of 1,633 square meters.

According to the declaration, Viktor Yushchenko owns a ZAZ-965A car and a Harl.Dav bike. Neither of his family members own transport vehicles.

Also, President Viktor Yushchenko owns securities for UAH 327 and a banking deposit of UAH 3,014,181. The first family members have deposits for UAH 2,420,495.

Deposits and securities of the family are placed abroad.

According to the declaration, members of President Viktor Yushchenko’s family include his wife Kateryna and children under the age of 18: Taras, Sofia, and Khrystyna.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yushchenko posted income of UAH 926,922 for 2007.

Yanukovych: Ukraine is not ready for the Constitution reform

 The leader of the Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych considers today’s speech of Viktor Yushchenko in the parliament as the last one. He said that today at the briefing. The ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“Today we heard the last speech of Yushchenko in the parliament, because it will not take place next year,” Yanukovych said.

According to him, in President’s speech we heard many declarations, including declaration on changes into the Constitution.

 
Speaking about two-chamber parliament, Yanukovych noted: “Such changes should be prepared. But at first Ukraine must pass the corresponding period. It is necessary to organize effective work of the parliament with a coalition supporting the government,” he said.

Yushchenko calls Ukrainians not to withdraw money from banks

Making his annual speech in the parliament, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko addressed to the Ukrainians with request to renew trust to the banks and not to withdraw their deposits. The ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“I ask Ukrainian citizens to renew the trust to the Ukrainian banks and not to withdraw deposits, doing no harm to themselves and the state,” he said.

Moreover, Viktor Yushchenko called to support every Ukrainian producer, whose products have solvent demand.

“Bank system should give an impulse for support of domestic demand,” Yushchenko stressed.

Yushchenko sees success on way to Europe and insists on friendly relations with Russia

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko sees significant success of Ukraine on the way to democratization and entering into the European area for last five years. The President said that today in the parliament during his annual speech, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

According to the President, we will achieve European and Euro Atlantic aim as it is in the interests of Ukraine.

Yushchenko said that today’s foreign policy condition of Ukraine is too complicated and Ukraine must adhere to International norms and obligations and also must hold balanced international policy and stands for its national interests.

At the same time Viktor Yushchenko stands for maximum improvement of the relations with Russia.

“I call for the maximum improvement of relations with Russia,” the President said.

Yushchenko offers to declare moratorium on political quarrels

Making his annual speech in the parliament, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has offered his ‘united national plan on crisis solution”. The ForUm’s correspondent informs.

According to the President, this plan consists of two parts – economic program and political measures. “We are special, but not unique in this crisis,” Yushchenko said.

According to him, Ukraine a real program on renewal of stable financial system should be realized in Ukraine.

The President is sure that the budget for current year should be reconsidered totally.

The President also considers that now is the very time to hold pension reform.

Moreover, the President called MPs to keep down their passion and to impose a moratorium on political quarrels.

“I ask to keep down your political passion and impose a moratorium on conflicts. Presidential campaign will start only four months before the elections, so I offer to put aside all actions concerning elections till September,” Yushchenko said.

Tymoshenko is against of early elections

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko does not support initiative on simultaneous early Presidential and parliamentary elections. She said that yesterday in “Svoboda slova” TV show on ICTV channel.

“Such war will lead to total destabilization of the political situation in the country,” Tymoshenko said.

PM reminded that early presidential elections are possible only under condition of impeachment. But this procedure is unreasonable because next presidential elections will take place soon.

According to Tymoshenko it is not time to hold early elections now. Some countries under the crisis conditions even postpone elections for 1-2- years.

 
As a reminder, the Party of Regions insists on simultaneous early presidential and parliamentary elections.
