Political analyst: Maidan activists have no authorities

Political analyst: Maidan activists have no authorities

Opposition leaders failed to become the authority for Maidan activists, so they take political power into their own hands. This opinion was expressed by director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadym Karasev in commentary to ForUm correspondent.
“No one now is the authority for Maidan activists. They claim to be authorities and political leaders with reputation,” Karasev said.
According to him, a galaxy of future political figures of Ukraine has formed in Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square.
“The fact is that opposition politicians have not become real leaders of the Maidan, resulting in a request to form a new leadership. And now it’s a matter of time when activists and civic leaders from Maidan will be in politics,” he said.
According to Karasev, the specific names of these people could be heard in the case of early parliamentary elections.
“The increased political speed does not work for those who can not yet compete in the ratings with the opposition. But Maidan activists will take their places on the front of the stage. There will be 15 people for sure. The “Right Sector” is quite ready political structure with its speakers and leaders. In the future, they may well become the parliamentary faction,” analyst predicts.
