Arbuzov: Ukraine, EBRD continue fruitful cooperation

The Government continues systematic cooperation in the energy sector with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), acting Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov announced.
“I want to thank our colleagues from the EBRD for systematic support of the energy sector. Being the largest investor in Ukraine, the bank supports us in the implementation of major projects in the energy sector. It is especially important to us that the funds are allocated for our economy under the favorable conditions,” he said.
In connection with this, Arbuzov notes the Bank’s decision to allocate $ 155 million to support Ukraine’s energy and small businesses.
Of these funds, he said, $ 100 million will be invested in the development of sustainable energy sources and energy efficiency.
In addition, the acting Ukrainian Prime Minister recalled that the Bank also approved a new program to support small and medium-sized enterprises of 55 million dollars.
“Funds for this project will help Ukrainian companies to embark on energy efficiency, cost savings and reductions in energy demand. This assistance is consistent with our strategy to reduce emissions from electricity generation, as well as protection of the environment,” Arbuzov said.
