President congratulates Cherkasy region residents

President congratulates Cherkasy region residents

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych congratulated residents of Cherkasy region on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of its formation, the Presidential press service reported.
“I sincerely congratulate you on the 60th anniversary of the Cherkasy region formation. Ukrainian Cossacks originated from this blessed land, Chyhyryn first became the capital of the Cossack state, aspirations of our people for freedom and independence started from this land, which have been spread from generation to generation. Your glorious fellow countrymen called for unity for the benefit of Ukraine – great state founder Bohdan Khmelnytsky and spiritual prophet of the nation Taras Shevchenko,” the President’s congratulations read, Ukrinform informed.
According to Yanukovych, currently, Cherkasy region possesses considerable potential of economic development, which is being realized in agriculture and industry, the regional infrastructure develops, health care system objects are being actively constructed.
“I wish that this holiday filled your hearts with pride for your land, and fruitful labor will further be a pledge of your wellbeing and welfare. I wish you health, new achievements and victories,” the President stressed in his congratulations.
