More than 100 police officers injured due to clashes in Bankova Street

More than 100 law enforcement officers suffered as a result of clashes with protesters near the Presidential Administration building in the Bankova Street in Kyiv, the press service of the Interior Ministry in Kyiv told ForUm correspondent.
“Some were hospitalized, some are on the way to the hospitals,” the statement says.

The opposition leaders urged the people gathered near the Bankova street to return to the Maidan Nezalezhnosti Street, leader of the UDAR Party Vitali Klitschko with other deputies stated, arrived at the scene, ForUm correspondent reports.

Azarov’s spokesman: Situation in Kyiv is under control

The situation in Kyiv is under control, people have the right to hold peaceful meetings, according to Prime Minister Mykola Azarov’s spokesman Vitaliy Lukyanenko.
Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers plans to work in usual mode.
“The government will work as usual,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on Sunday.
Azarov will hold a regular meeting with ministers on Monday, and a regular meeting of the government is scheduled for Wednesday, he said.

The protesters are called to return to the Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square from Bankova Street, MP from the UDAR Party Artur Palatny declared, ForUm correspondent reports.

15 police officers hospitalized after clashes with protesters outside presidential administration building

Fifteen police officers have been hospitalized after clashes with protesters outside the presidential administration’s building in Bankova Street downtown Kyiv, a source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax-Ukraine.
“Fifteen policemen with various injuries after clashes with protesters outside the presidential administration’s building have been taken to hospital,” the source said.
The clashes haven’t ended yet. The police do not use any force.

Leader of the Svoboda political party Oleh Tiahnybok has announced the launch of a national strike in Ukraine.
“We are launching a national strike,” he said in Kyiv on Sunday.
