Yefremov: Ukraine plans to purchase 10 bcm of gas from Russia

Yefremov: Ukraine plans to purchase 10 bcm of gas from Russia

Ukraine plans to purchase about 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Russia in the near future because of its high cost, leader of the Party of Regions faction, chairman of the Luhansk Party of Regions regional organization Oleksandr Yefremov told a press conference.
“When the gas price agreement with Russia was signed, we were in opposition. We were told that it was temporary, that we would return everything to normal when we came to power. Then Russia forgot about that promise. But today we are talking about something else: why the EU gets the same gas by 130-200 dollars cheaper? It’s not fair,” he said.
“We examined all the issues, the only thing we can do is to consume not 41 billion cubic meters of gas but 27 billion cubic meters. I think that after a while Ukraine will be able to purchase a total of about 10 billion,” Yefremov said.
