Yanukovych to hold bilateral meetings with colleagues on Saturday

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will meet with other Presidents, who are to visit Ukraine to attend the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Christianization of the Kyivan Rus, on July 27-28.
The Ukrainian President will hold a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts on Saturday, July 27, the presidential press service reported on Wednesday.
In particular, Yanukovych will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Presidential Administration, Interfax-Ukraine informed.
On July 28, the Ukrainian and Russian presidents will travel to Sevastopol to take part in the Navy Day celebrations.

Parliamentary benefits to allow saving 100 million per year

The draft law on limitation of the parliamentary benefits received approval of the Ministries and was submitted to the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, social policy minister of Ukraine Natalia Korolevska told journalists after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to Korolevska, the bill was approved by the Finance Ministry, Economic Development and Trade Ministry and Justice Ministry.
She noted that the Cabinet’s Secretariat will prepare this document for consideration by the government.
At the same time, the minister expressed hope that the deputies will support this bill, as the declared such willingness.

Lysychansk refinery resumes work in February-March 2014

The Lysychansk refinery could resume its work in February-March 2014, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
“Negotiations with “Rosneft” continues. We enter the final stage,” the minister said.
According to him, the production cycle at the Lysychansk refinery allows start working five months after appropriate arrangements.

Putin to pay working visit to Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to Ukraine on July 27-28 and will take part in events celebrating the 1025th anniversary of Christianization of Kyivan Rus, the Kremlin press service reported on Wednesday.
On July 27, Putin will join a celebratory prayer service on Volodymyrska Hill in Kyiv and will visit Kyiv Pechersk Monastery, where he will present Russian state decorations to hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate for their contribution to the development of friendly relations between the two nations and strengthening of spiritual traditions, it said, Interfax informed.
During the visit, Putin will hold negotiations with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, at which they two plan to discuss key subjects of bilateral cooperation, primarily that in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields, and exchange opinions on relevant issues of integration cooperation on the Eurasian territory.
On July 28, the Ukrainian and Russian Presidents will travel to Sevastopol to take part in Navy Day celebrations.

Ukraine hopes through a constructive dialogue to find a common ground with countries that threaten our country with sanctions because of the introduction of tax on imported cars, incomes and fees minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko told a briefing after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports
In particular, Klymenko said: “We will not fight with anyone. We can only hold a constructive dialogue with countries and find a mutual understanding.”
In addition, according to him, Ukraine has also a number of remarks to some countries.
“We must listen to our neighbors, but they need to hear our position as well, we should negotiate as equal partners,” the minister said.

“Electronic office of the taxpayer” has already started working in a test mode, incomes and fees minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko told a briefing after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
“Tax administration is simplified and the latest technologies are used, making it possible to use the electronic services in order to increase the investment attractiveness of Ukraine and improve its position in the world rankings. Strategic direction is the introduction of service “Electronic office of the taxpayer”, which has already started its work in test mode,” the minister stressed.
In addition, the official said that today proposals are developed for changes to the law regarding the improvement of mechanisms for verification of the customs value of goods purchased by domestic enterprises for the manufacture of products.

The citizens of Ukraine are more careful about the removal of funds abroad, incomes and fees minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko told a briefing after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports
“I really like the fact that today there is a tendency, and we emphasize it. It is a restructuring of financial schemes of the movement of goods and more accurate attitude to the removal of capital abroad. That is, the law on transfer pricing allowed us to achieve a lot. This is a very positive sign for the future,” he said.
Klymenko reminded that this law on transfer pricing is now waiting for the signature of the President of Ukraine. After it is signed, the Incomes and Fees Ministry will begin a preparatory process for normative acts, as well as a large-scale explanatory work.

Restoration of monuments to Kyiv Rus Baptism completed

Restoration works and measures to bring the sacred monuments order to celebrate the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyiv Rus are completed almost in all regions of Ukraine, culture minister of Ukraine Leonid Novokhatko told a briefing after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
As minister noted, large-scale restoration works have been carried out on some objects of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Monastery, St. Sophia Cathedral, Cathedral of St Michael and St Elias Orthodox nunnery.
In addition, according to Novohatko, some non-religious objects were also restored, in particular monument to Prince Vladimir, Princess Olga, as well as the area around the monument to the Magdeburg Law – formerly the lower monument to Baptism of Rus.
He stressed the Government allocated 47 million UAH for restoration works. “However, I can only report for the budget, since many works have been carried out by volunteers and paid for by international agencies and individuals.”
