CEC ready to appoint repeated elections in Dombrovski, Baloha constituencies

The Central Election Commission is ready to appoint repeated elections in constituencies, where the elected Oleksandr Dombrovski and Pavlo Baloha were deprived of deputy mandates, deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission Andriy Mahera said.
According to him, the CEC will expect from the Parliament a proper legal settlement of the issue. Mahera added that the Parliament has the right to unite in a single decree appointment of elections in all troubled constituencies, or to declare it in a separate document. He added that the main thing is not the date of the elections, but the search for a compromise, after which the results of the voting will be legitimate.

Boiko explains reasons for decline in trade turnover between Ukraine, Russia

Vice Prime Minister Yuri Boiko accounts for the reduction of trade turnover between Ukraine and Russia by global market recession. 
“The fall in turnover is primarily reasoned by the recession in the European Union and the world on the whole, and it somehow has affected our relations. Our task is to restore our sectoral areas, which would help eliminate these negative effects,” Boiko said on air of Channel 5.

Cabinet adopts financial plan of Naftogaz

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the financial plan of the National Joint Stock Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” for 2013 with a deficit of 18 billion UAH, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told journalists.
“We adopted it as a whole, but there are still some issues related to taxation. In general, we stopped deficit. It will be around 18 billion UAH,” the minister said.
He noted that in view of all the financial indicators for the year, the company can expect profit.

Average pension in Ukraine grew by 19% for six months

Average pension in Ukraine grew by 19% for six months

For the first six months of 2013, the average pension increased by 19%, social policy minister of Ukraine Natalia Korolevska told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
The minister stressed that for five months of this year, the average pension amounted to 1478 UAH. This is by 19% more than during the same period last year.
Korolevska stressed that this was achieved by increasing the amount of pension payments. Thus, according to the profile minister, the first half of 2013, the pension payments increased by 11%, which amounted to 124 UAH.

Tabachnyk: There are higher educational institutions without enrollees

In Ukraine there are higher educational institutions, which have not received a single application of entrants so far, education minister Dmytro Tabachnyk said after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
“Of course, there are higher educational institution, which have received none applications so far. We will soon make public a list of them,” he said.
The minister noted that this year’s enrolment boards are working on a high level.
Tabachnyk also praised the EIT 2013. He stressed that this year there are twice less appeals and complaints on the results than in last year, while the number of those, who passed testing, did not change significantly.

39 regional gas companies to be put on sale in autumn

In autumn 2013, the Cabinet of Ministers will put 39 regional gas companies on sale, head of the State Property Fund Oleksandr Ryabchenko stated after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
“Today, the government decided to put 39 regional gas companies on sale this autumn,” the official stressed and added that 37 companies will put on sale 25% of shares and two – a majority stake.
“At the next Cabinet meeting, we will decide on the terms of sale and create the appropriate committee, gathering all proposals,” he noted.
Presumably, all companies will be put up on sale by the end of autumn 2013, Ryabchenko summed up.

State Inspectorate for Consumer Protection to check alcohol quality in restaurants

The State Inspectorate for Consumer Protection will check restaurants and cafes against manufacturing alcoholic beverages without proper documentation and permits, head of the State Inspectorate for Consumer Protection Serhiy Orekhov told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, restaurants often use products of their own making, and there is no guarantee of their quality.
Orekhov added that checks will be conducted against sale of beer and low-alcohol beverages to minors.

Korolevska demands to increase minimum wage of Ukrainians

Before the end of this year, the number of Ukrainians, who receive the minimum wage, should be reduced twice, social policy minister of Ukraine Natalia Korolevska told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
She stressed that the number of Ukrainians with the minimum wage currently amounts to 14%, which is more than one million people. “This is not a normal situation. Therefore, the Pension Fund, the Employment Fund and the State Inspectorate for Labour have a task to reduce the number of people, who now live on the minimum wage,” the minister said.
In this regard, Korolevska instructed officials to negotiate with the owners of enterprises to raise wages to their staff.
