No objective conditions for grain price cut

No objective conditions for grain price cut

Today ton of grain on the domestic market costs 100-200 hryvnia more than over the same period in 2011 and there are no objective conditions for a critical grain price cut, first deputy agrarian policy and food minister Ivan Bisiuk stated.
According to him, the market has returned to its annual average values.
“At this level of world grain production, decline in its average value was expected. However, the current price is within the average of previous years. Thus, the current prices are 50-70 hryvnia per ton lower than over the corresponding period last year. However, it should be noted that the current prices are 100-200 hryvnia per ton higher than those that were on the same date in 2011,” the deputy minister said.

Bisiuk noted that it is no possible to talk about some critical grain prices cut today as the market returned to its annual average.

Legal construction in Ukraine grows three-fold

The legal construction in Ukraine has grown three-fold over the past two years, deputy chairman of the State Architectural and Construction Inspection Anatoly Hryhor told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.
Hryhor explained that 48 thousand documents have been registered at the beginning of construction in the first half of 2013 in the Unified State Register. Such data, he said, show a three-fold increase as compared to the same periods in the past 2 years. “Of them, 30 thousand are construction of housing nature, 10 thousand – of production nature and another 10 thousand – road transport infrastructure,” he added.
He recalled that a bill, which greatly simplifies the process of acquisition of the right to construction works, was passed two years ago in Ukraine in order to improve the situation in the sphere of legal construction. The adoption has resulted in a significant increase in the legal construction in the country.

“This figure (48 thousand – Ed.) is 12% more than last year. Moreover, for the first six months of 2013, about 27 thousand declarations of readiness for operation of objects were registered,” he said.

Hryhor added that leaders in the number of registered declarations in the first half of the year were Donetsk (3293 declarations), Kyiv (1125), Odesa (1026) and Lviv (986) regions.
“The largest number of commissioned objects is registered in Donetsk region, Kyiv region and Crimea,” the official concluded.

Ukrainian grain growers advised not to sell under the counter

Ukrainian grain growers advised not to sell under the counter

First deputy agrarian policy and food minister Ivan Bisiuk urged Ukrainian grain producers not to sell their products under the counter.
“Today, depending on the region, the price for wheat of the third grade ranges from 1.470 UAH to 1.800 UAH per ton, for feed wheat of the sixth grade – from 1340 UAH to 1610 UAH per ton,” he told press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
The first deputy minister stressed that in the global market, particularly in the markets of the European Union, the price for wheat today is 254 dollars per ton, or slightly more than 2 thousand UAH.
“If we take into account the price for grain logistics, and it is 546 UAH per ton, the domestic price of grain in the EU will be around 1400-1450 per ton, whereas our State Food Grain Corporation buys wheat of the third grade for 1770 UAH per ton,” the official informed.
In connection with this Bisiuk addressed the grain producers not to sell their products cheaply. “We have information that the grain is sold for 1250-1300 UAH per ton under the counter, reasoning that by the fact that they need money to carry out further work on harvesting and preparing the soil for the next planting season,” he said.
“If you do not have money, you can, first, sell grain to the Grain Corporation. If there is no wheat grain, but you have corn, then you can conclude the contract on forward purchases with the State Food Grain Corporation. My point is that you should not rush from one extreme to another,” Bisiuk summed up.

It is worth noting that the protesters themselves were confused by the fact that the rally ended just an hour after the start.

“I do not know why people go away, I have not heard who announced the completion of the action. We had clear requirements, though “Svoboda” has expanded them to dismissal of the minister,” head of the Orange Revolution Members Coalition Serhiy Melnychenko said.

One of the participants of the picket said that MPs from the Svoboda faction had to file claims to the police.
