Incomes and Fees Ministry sets up Investment Board

Incomes and Fees Ministry sets up Investment Board

The Incomes and Fees Ministry will set up Investment Board within its structure, the press service of the Ministry informs.
“The Investment Board will be set up to strengthen the partnership and promote direct dialogue with domestic and foreign investors,” the report says.
This Board is expected to act as an advisory body to the Incomes and Fees Ministry.
The Board staff will include heads and leading specialists of the Ministry, representatives of business associations, top managers of Ukrainian and foreign companies.
The Investment Board will be headed by incomes and fees minister Oleksandr Klimenko.
The working groups of the Board will work on improving the investment climate, taxes and customs duties, legislative proposals.
The working groups will also provide recommendations to address existing gaps and obstacles in the tax field for business.

Lutsenko’s discharge from hospital is planned

Discharge from the hospital and prison transfer of former interior minister Yuri Lutsenko to the Mena colony was planned, deputy head of the medical department of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine Zurab Malazonia informed.

According to him, Lutsenko has no indications for hospitalization.

“The doctor decided to discharge Lutsenko. Indeed, as the conclusion of the clinic reads, the state of health of the patient improved after medical treatment,” Malazonia said.

He also noted that prison transfer of Lutsenko was planned.

Ukrainian gymnasts win gold and silver medals at U.S. tournament

Ukraine national rhythmic gymnastics team won gold and silver medals at the prestigious tournament – LA Lights Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament of Champions-2013, held in Los Angeles (USA), the official website of the State Service of Youth and Sport of Ukraine reports.
“Hanna Ryzatdinova became a winner in the overall standings of competition. Alina Maksymenko won a silver medal, and Viktoria Mazur took the fourth place,” the statement said.
As of today, the Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics team is looking forward to participate in the World Cup, which will be held on February 8-10 in Estonia.

1.500 convicts may be granted amnesty

The Cabinet of Ministers will submit for consideration by parliament a draft law on amnesty in 2013, which was prepared by the Ukrainian Justice Ministry and approved at a government meeting on Wednesday, the Justice Ministry’s press service has informed, Ukrinform reports.
“The draft law on amnesty in 2013 proposes that an amnesty be granted for categories of convicts who committed minor or moderate crimes,” reads the statement.
He provisions of the bill can be applied to minors, pregnant women at the time of the entry into force of the law, women and men with children under the age of 18 or disabled children, retirees, veterans, the disabled of the first, second and third groups, as well as people with TB, cancer, etc. In total, these are about 1,500 people of these categories.
The ministry noted that the adoption of the law would help reduce the number of people who are currently serving their prison terms, but do not represent a significant danger to society. In turn, this will be a manifestation of the state’s humanity in the sphere of the execution of criminal penalties, the Justice Ministry said.

OSCE satisfied with sentence in Gongadze’s case

OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovic welcomes the sentence for the murder of Ukrainian journalist Georgiy Gongadze and encourages to search for customers of the crime.
“Finally, after 12 long years of suffering and uncertainty for families, friends and colleagues of Gongadze, justice is served. However, the customers are still at large,” Mijatovic said in a statement.
According to her, there is still much to do in order to “break the cycle of impunity for those, who provoke violence against journalists in Ukraine and abroad.”

Marriage and divorce data of Ukrainians can be found in e-form

All documents on marital status of Ukrainian citizens born after 1955 have been already digitized, justice minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
“All the data, including date of birth, change of name, marriage, divorce, adoption, can be found in the electronic form,” he said.
The minister said that now the specialists are working to digitize the documents on marital status of citizens born before 1955.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Oleksandr Kyriuk as director general of the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine, having dismissed Ihor Yakubovych from the post, minister of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Olena Lukash told reporters.

According to her, the decision was taken at today’s Cabinet’s meeting.

Number of patients with advanced cancer decreased in Kyiv

In 2012, Kyiv medical workers have found by 1.3% less advanced types of cancer among the population than in 2011, chief oncologist of Kyiv Dmytro Osynsky told the Moscow-Kyiv-Chisinau-Yerevan-Baku-Tbilisi-Astana teleconference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, active educational work of doctors promoted this statistics.
At the same time, he admitted that it is often difficult for Kievans to find time to visit a specialist.
Osynsky named a fear of possible pathology as another important factor of late visit to a doctor.
