Few passengers remain abroad, State Aviation Service declares

As of today, there are few passengers abroad that have not been transported by Aerosvit airline, chairman of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine Anatoliy Kolisnyk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
He also noted that the State Aviation Service of Ukraine and the Foreign Ministry have opened a hot line, and every caller is given the information on his delivery.
In addition, according to the head of the State Service, the charter flights from Prague and Tbilisi have been started to fly, and we expect the flight from Baku tonight.
Kolisnyk stressed that every passenger with Aerosvit tickets was offered an alternative carrier.

MPs approve convention on international recovery of alimony

MPs approve convention on international recovery of alimony

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Convention on international recovery of alimony and other forms of family maintenance.
232 MPs voted in favor of the adoption of the respective President’s bill, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the explanatory note, its aims and objectives are to implement procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Convention on the international recovery of alimony and other forms of family maintenance.
“The Convention creates a flexible universal mechanism to ensure cooperation in the field of recognition and enforcement of the recovery of alimony for children and other family members,” the document says.

Deputy Head of Yanukovych’s Administration Larin to supervise issues of regional, staff policy

The newly appointed deputy head of the presidential administration, Serhiy Larin, will be in charge of regional and staff policy, Interfax-Ukraine learned at the press service of the presidential administration on Friday.
“Earlier these functions were performed by Stanislav Skubashevsky, who was dismissed from the post of deputy head of the presidential administration on November 23, 2012 due to his election as an MP. On January 9, Skubashevsky was appointed an independent advisor to the president,” the press service said.
When asked whether anybody will be appointed to the post of the head of the presidential administration’s main department for humanitarian, social and political, which was vacated by Hanna Herman, who was elected an MP, the press service said that the presidential administration was undergoing reorganization.
The press service said they would report the results of the reorganization as usual on the president’s official Web site.

Yefremov explains why some PR MPs vote to free Tymoshenko

Leader of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yefremov explained why eight members of the Party of Regions voted to decriminalize the articles of the Criminal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure, on which former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and former interior minister Yuri Lutsenko were convicted.
“My colleagues from the faction came before the vote to me and informed me that they have their own position on this issue, which they would like to implement. I let those people to vote freely,” he told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

Yefremov supposes that such position is reasoned by the fact that, “there are certain personal relationship”.

PR explains why MPs not vote on draft amnesty law

MPs did not vote on the draft amnesty law, because the opposition did not prepare the relevant documents, leader of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yefremov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
“Consideration of this bill was included into agenda. But when we met in the office of the speaker, we asked the opposition why the bill was not prepared for the consideration and there was no corresponding decision of the committee … We did not get any answers,” he said.
Yefremov advised to ask the opposition why this document was not prepared.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has introduced newly appointed head of the NBU Ihor Sorkin to the staff of the National Bank.
The event was also attended by former head of the National Bank Serhiy Arbuzov. Now he is the first deputy Prime Minister.

PR looking for partners to vote on every law

Head of the Party of Regions Oleksandr Yefremov is surprised that the opposition is making a splash due to the lack of majority of the PR in the Parliament, he told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
“The Party of Regions does not have a majority. 208 deputies are registered in the PR, and they are part of our political force. And we need to look for partners in order to vote for any bill, and we do it in the session hall. This is not a big deal,” he stressed.

Sorkin is legitimate NBU head, PR stressed

Voting for Ihor Sorkin as a head of the National Bank of Ukraine was legitimate, leader of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yefremov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
At the same time, Yefremov did not comment on the actions of opposition.
“As for the opposition, I would not like to discuss its actions. From my point of view, they are immoral,” he said.
The MP suggested that the opposition continues to see the Parliament as a part of the ongoing political election campaign.
