The police have not ruled out that a criminal case that was earlier opened against Yaroslav Mazurok, the suspect in the killing of security guards in the Karavan shopping mall in Kyiv, could be closed if the results of a DNA test confirm that a man that was found dead in Kyiv on November 7 is the suspect.
“If it is confirmed that the body found is Mazurok’s, then, perhaps, the case will be closed in connection with the death of the suspect,” the media liaisons office of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported.

CEC official says there is no point in holding re-elections countrywide

Deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission Andriy Mahera considers the political demands to hold re-elections countrywide as groundless.

“We must respect the statements of politicians, of course, but I am telling you there are no grounds to hold re-elections in the majority of single-mandate constituencies. Of course, we have such highly regarded institutions as Constitutional Court and Verkhovna Rada, which can make decisions and these decisions must be observed,” Mahera told journalists.

According to him, repeat elections should be held only in problem constituencies. “For the moment we have five problem constituencies, and we should decide on how to guarantee electoral rights of citizens there,” he noted.

Mahera specified that the results of voting on party lists in all problem constituencies would be taken into account by CEC during the announcement of election results in the country. “We have no doubts in results of voting on party lists. The problem concerns only single-mandate candidates,” CEC official underlined.
