Karavan’s shooter will soon be found, Azarov sure

The Prime Minister is confident that “Karavan’s shooter” will soon be found.
“Law enforcement agencies are now working very hard. He will be found one hundred percent, no matter where he is hiding now. Those who help him will be punished and brought to justice,” Mykola Azarov said at a hot line in “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine” newspaper, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
Azarov called crime in “Karavan” as high crime and a criminal as “boxer scumbag”, adding that those who help him hide, put themselves in a very unenviable situation.
“Localization and isolation – is the task that the President and government have put before the Interior Ministry and all the internal organs, so that sooner or later, probably sooner, the offender is found and punished,” he said.
Azarov also said that the case in “Karavan” has revealed a number of problems in our lives that need to be addressed.

The Central Election Commission canceled the registration of six candidates, who ran for parliamentary election in single-mandate constituencies.
As ForUm correspondent reports, the relevant decision was taken at the CEC meeting on the basis of personal statements of candidates.
In particular, the Central Election Commission deregistered five self-nominees in constituencies 70, 109, 92, 38, 69 and the candidate nominated by the UDAR party in constituency 112.

Yanukovych demands to find additional 300 millions in budget for veterans

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed the law on amendments to the law of Ukraine on the status of war veterans and guarantees of their social security.
As the President’s press service informs, the law covers the disabled of the first group, combatants, the disabled veterans of II-III groups of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
As the first deputy head of the President’s Administration Iryna Akimova said, the changes cover sixty seven thousand citizens of Ukraine. “67 thousand war veterans, who are now at least 85 years old are entitled to additional benefits,” she said.
According to her, the law provides for the increase of pensions according to the category – 25, 20, 10 per cent of the cost of living, that is, respectively, 221 UAH, 176.8 UAH, 88.4 UAH. Other key benefits – is reduce in utility tariffs for the mentioned categories of veterans, free use of public transport, and free use of railway once a year.
“Another benefit is the increase of payments provided in connection with the celebration of May 9,” the first deputy head of the Administration said.
Akimova said that the implementation of the provisions of the law require additional 300 million UAH from the state budget.
“This law demonstrates the continued care for veterans of the Great Patriotic War,” Akimova said.

PM: Fairs encourage supermarkets to lower food prices

Holding food fairs in the major cities of Ukraine provides price stability for food, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at a hot line in “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine” newspaper, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
The Prime Minister said that 70 thousand tons of food were sold for the first 9 months of this year in the capital’s fairs: “70 thousand tons of food were sold in Kyiv. In average, 20 kg of food per each of 3.5 million residents – meat, vegetables, etc. These products were purchased at fairs, where prices are lower than in supermarkets and stores,” Azarov said.
The Prime Minister said that the fairs are good tool to ensure products price stability. He added that the fairs encourage major retailers to reduce prices for such products.

Azarov proposes to erect monument to Stupka

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov proposed to erect a monument to Bohdan Stupka. According to Azarov, this monument can be installed near the Franko drama theater, directed by Stupka.
“We can do it for public funds – it will not affect the state budget, but it can be also done at people’s cost. I am ready to create a fund and oversee it and make the first deposit for such a monument to be built,” he said at a hot line in “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine” newspaper, ForUm correspondent informs.
According to the Prime Minister, the “national” monument will be more valuable, than that built at state expense.
“When the government decides and allocates money -it is one thing, but when the people give – who five hryvnia, who a thousand, ten thousand who -it is another thing. And if such a monument is built, it will be the best tribute and respect for this great actor,” he said.

FTA with EU to be concluded after election, Azarov hopes

The negotiations on a free trade area between Ukraine and the European Union will be intensified after the election to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at a hot line in “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine” newspaper, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
Azarov said that Ukraine and the EU initialed the FTA agreement, but the ratification process was somewhat delayed.
“I think that after the election, we will intensify efforts and consensus will be found,” the head of the government said.
He noted that Ukraine is interested in ratification, since the EU gives one third of trade turnover.
“We are currently negotiating on free trade area with six other countries. We have signed the appropriate agreements with many countries in the WTO, because for us it is essential that there are obstacles and barriers when promoting our products and services,” the Prime Minister said.

Gas prices not to grow next year, Azarov assured

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov assured Ukrainians that the gas prices will be stable the next year, he said, communicating with the readers of the “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine” newspaper, ForUm correspondent reports.

“The gas prices will not grow up. Moreover, we think how to reduce the rates for our industry, because the prices are too high and put our economy, our metallurgy industry and all consumers of gas in the non-competitive conditions,” the Prime Minister said.

According to Azarov, Ukraine is holding negotiations with Russia on the revision of gas contracts, as well as reduce in the amount of fuel imports from this country.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov assured that next year the dollar rate will not grow against the hryvnia rate.
“The dollar won’t soar. The rate stability has been laid and this stability is determined primarily by stable foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank. They are determined by the fact that the country gets more foreign currency or loses more. We have a small positive surplus,” he said, communicating with the readers of the “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine” newspaper, ForUm correspondent reports.
At the same time, the PM assured that the rate will remain stable after the parliamentary election.
In addition, Azarov said that he keeps his savings in local currency. “I have kept and keep my savings in local currency as deposits in hryvnia have the highest percentages. They are much higher than inflation is,” he stressed.
