Azarov to visit Sorochynsky fair

On Thursday, Prime Minister Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov will visit Poltava region, regional governor Oleksandr Udovychenko told a press conference after the opening of the Sorochynsky fair (large fair held in the village of Velyki Sorochyntsi near Poltava).

According to him, tomorrow, the region authorities will show the enterprise “Myrgorodkurort” and the health-resort base of the region to the Prime Minister. Azarov will also visit the agricultural enterprises and Sorochynsky fair.

“The Prime Minister will visit the Sorochynsky fair for the first time. It proves that the central government takes care of the national projects. At the fair, we will show our achievements in industry and agriculture to Azarov,” Udovychenko said.

Azarov: Schools will receive one thousand buses by September 1

Before September 1, educational institutions should get one thousand school buses, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said, the government portal reports.

“By September 1, all schools should receive a thousand new school buses. For the first time, we were able to buy such number of buses for children. Each bus should work starting from the first bell,” Azarov said.

He instructed the Education and Science, Youth and Sports Ministry, the heads of local authorities to monitor the provision of educational institutions with school buses.

34 people excluded from the Our Ukraine electoral list

The Central Election Commission excluded 34 people from the electoral list of the Our Ukraine party. This decision was taken at the CEC meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
This decision was made because these people did not file the consent to run for parliamentary seats.
By another decision, the CEC registered the candidates from the Our Ukraine party in the national-level single-mandate election constituency.
Also, the CEC registered the candidates from the Our Ukraine party in the multi-mandate constituencies.

Akimova: There will be less intermediaries at labor market

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych signed the law on employment of population, first deputy head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine, presidential envoy in the Cabinet of Ministers Iryna Akimova told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to her, in particular, the procedure of employment was changed. Thus, the Employment Service will maintain a register of private employment agencies. Only employers should pay for the services of employment intermediaries. In addition, job advertisements are prohibited to place requests on the age of a job seeker, the restrictions on sex (with some exceptions) and his personal life.

The first deputy head of the administration of the President noted that the agencies taking money from applicants with no guarantee of success should disappear from the market. “As for young people, students received the level of “skilled worker”, “junior specialist”, “bachelor”, “specialist” are allowed to take an internship for 6 months with the introduction of data on it in the labor book,” she emphasized.

A person older than 45 years with work experience at least for 15 years, whose profession is not in demand in the labor market, is entitled to get a voucher for a free re-training or training for the amount not more than 10 minimum wages (11.020 UAH). Finally, the law provides for the development of targeted state programs to create new jobs.

More than seven million UAH allocated for perinatal center in Crimea

7.081 million UAH were allocated from the Crimea budget for the completion of preparatory work and the purchase of necessary equipment for the Republican Perinatal Center. The corresponding changes in the national budget were introduced at the extraordinary session of the Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on August 15.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Anatoly Mohyliov said that the allocated funds will be used to purchase modern furniture and the necessary medical equipment. “In autumn we plan to complete construction of the perinatal center. Given that this center will serve women from all over the Crimea, we need to create comfortable environment. The best professionals will work in the center,” Mohyliov concluded.
The center will be equipped with modern individual facilities for obstetrics, neonatal department, medical genetics center, department of reconstructive gynecology, family planning centers, emergency obstetric and gynecological care, etc. Completion of construction and opening of the center is scheduled for this autumn.
It is also planned to buy modern medical equipment worth about 20 million UAH.

Russian becomes regional language in Odesa region

Odessa Regional Council decided that in Odessa region, along with the Ukrainian language as the state language, the Russian language as regional language shall be used. The measures aimed at the use of regional languages specified in the law of Ukraine on national language policy shall be applied for Russian. The relevant decision was adopted by regional council deputies at the extraordinary session on Wednesday.
In addition, the regional council addressed the rural and city councils with the proposal to adopt similar decisions on the development, use and protection of the Russian language as a regional one.
The regional council also instructed the regional administration to provide for expenditure for implementation of the law of Ukraine on national language policy in the Odesa regional budget 2013.

Almost all education institutions are ready for the new academic year, minister of education and science, youth and sports Dmytro Tabachnyk told a press conference in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.

“Almost all education institutions will start working on September 1 without delay. For the first time in many years, we have completed printing and delivery of more than 4.5 million textbooks for the first class on schedule,” he said.

According to him, as of today, 80% of the textbooks for the eleventh grade have been printed and delivered to the regions. This process will be completed by August 21.

There is a deficit of school books in regional languages in Ukraine, minister of education and science, youth and sports Dmytro Tabachnyk told a press conference in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.
“By law, the state must provide children with education in minority languages. However in 2010, only 42 thousand textbooks for the tenth grade were ordered for all schools with the teaching in minority languages. We removed this restriction, and in 2011, schools ordered 892 thousand textbooks in the minority languages. This year, there will be the same procedure: the schools will order textbooks in such language in which children are taught. The need for such books amounts to two million 60 thousand including one million 991 thousand books in Russian ordered by parents,” Tabachnyk said.
