Italian fans has set out for Olympic stadium

After the Spanish march of fans the thin group of Italian fans has started their march to the stadium, carrying the country national flag and shouting out slogans.

Guests of the fan-zone are taking their places in front of big screens, sitting right on the pavement.
The sky over the fan-zone is being guarded by two helicopters.

Spanish fans are holding a march to the stadium

Spanish fans have started the march from Khreshchyatyk Street to “Olympic” stadium, ForUm correspondent reports.

The fans are carrying the flags and singing songs. A lot of Ukrainians have joined the march as well.

At the same time, more and more Italian fans and Ukrainian fans with Italian symbols are making their way to the fan-zone. Both Italian and Spanish fans are making friends, inviting Ukrainians to their groups and exchanging T-shirts.

Ukraine and Poland have proved Europe and the whole world their ability to implement grandiose projects, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn said during a meeting with the Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Bogdan Borusewicz, as ForUm learned from the VR press-service.

“We have done everything for the football holiday take place. The Ukrainian and Polish hospitality during the Championship will certainly serve as a positive image of our states,” Lytvyn said. However, the head of the Parliament regretted that the teams of Ukraine and Poland did not make it to the final of Euro 2012.

The sides highly appreciated the level of bilateral parliamentary cooperation and stressed the importance of further development of constructive cooperation within the framework of inter-parliamentary assemblies as well.

Guests of Kyiv fan-zone drank 500 thousand liters of beer

For the three weeks of Euro-2012 tournament the Kyiv fan zone has welcomed one million 350 thousand guests, and after the final match the figures are expected to reach 1.5 million.

Press office of the Kyiv city state administration informs that for the whole time of the fan-zone existence there have been drained 500 thousand liters of beer and eaten 100 thousand hot-dogs.

To provide safe and comfortable stay in the fan-zone the organizers of the event have strengthened the security measures for the final match day. In particular, the number of stewards and guards in the fan-zone has been increased by 150 people.

Total of 540 people are working on Khreshchyatyk today and total of seven thousand 200 officers are maintaining public order on the nearby territories.

Kyiv airports cope with the inflow of tourists

The “Boryspil” and “Kyiv” (“Zhulyany”) Airports cope with the tourist’s inflow in Ukraine, the head of the border checkpoint “Kyiv” Maryana Markovych said, as ForUm reports.

“Despite the fact that today there are more than 600 flights in the “Boryspil” airport, and about 50 flights in “Zhulyany”, there are no delays, and border guards manage with their job excellent,” Markovych said.

According to her, there are no complaints about the work of airports, on the contrary, everyone is happy. The official also reminded that to speed up charter flights’ servicing the workers use the system of preliminary information processing.

“When a group leaves from the airport of departure we get passengers’ information contained in the passport documents. And while a passenger is still in the air, the border guards check the information through all law enforcement databases, and when the passenger arrives at the airport, we only provide personal identification, and it takes about 20 seconds,” Markovych concluded.

As a reminder, as of June 28 seven million people have come to Ukraine since the beginning of the Euro 2012.

Komorowski: Euro is Ukraine’s step closer to EU

Euro-2012 football championship is Ukraine’s one step closer to the European Union, President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski said at a joint press conference with Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych, a ForUm correspondent reports.

“Ladies and gentlemen, though Ukraine and Poland are not among the final winners, it is a fact that both our countries have won. We are the organizers of the championship. WE wanted this championship to become a demonstration of our cooperation. And we’ve made it. The world has seen that Ukraine and Poland can cooperate. I want to express my sincere thanks and congratulations. I want to express special thanks to co-organizers and border services,” Komorowski said.

The President of Poland mentioned there were concerns the border services might have some difficulties. “But it was a model cooperation and we managed to set easy and comfortable travel between our countries,” he underlined.

Komorowski also added that Ukraine has proved her course towards European integration. “I want to congratulate you on this success and to tell you ‘Go ahead, Ukraine!’,” he summed up.

Yanukovych thanked Komorowski for successful cooperation during the Euro

The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has thanked his Polish colleague Bronisław Komorowski for successful cooperation during the preparation and holding of European Football Championship Euro-2012.

“First of all I want to thank the President Bronislaw Komorowski as a partner for holding Euro 2012 successfully,” Yanukovych said in the press statement after meeting with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski.

“During the Euro 2012 preparation and the tournament we were able to develop a joint staff, where all services cooperated to provide the safety of the championship and the fans movement across the border, including customs service and border guards. And I am sure that the experience that we got will be useful for us in the future, it’ll help to look for opportunities to work together and achieve positive results,” the Head of the Ukrainian State said.

In addition, as ForUm correspondent reports, Yanukovych stressed that the tournament success depended on the mood of the fans as well as from the “mood of the citizens of Ukraine and Poland, which created a real fest during all days of Euro 2012.”

“So I want to shake hands with the President Komorowski as a partner and as a friend of Ukraine and wish the success in the development of our countries and our relations,” Yanukovych concluded.

Spanish fans kick up heels in Khreshchatyk

Few hours before the beginning of the final match the Spanish fans are performing their traditional dances and songs, accompanied by the Ukrainian and Polish songs and another concert fan zone program, as ForUm correspondent reports.

Today many Ukrainians painted in the colors of the Spanish and Italian flags support the competing teams in the center of Kyiv. Ukrainian girls and guys are dancing and celebrating together with the Spanish. At the same time there is a little number of the Italian fans in the fan zone as well as the Ukrainians with the Italian symbols.

There also are a lot of people with the Ukrainian, Polish, Swedish, Russian and even Uzbek symbols in the center.
