State did not finance construction of hotels for Euro-2012, official says
The state did not take part in construction of any hotel for Euro-212 championship, Vice PM and Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
“The state did not participate in hotel construction. It was private capital…A law was adopted on tax exemption for hotels, and we plan to prolong the term, as tourism is n important constituent of country’s economy,” the official said.
According to Kolesnikov, fans will start coming in April-May. “Hotels are almost ready, and no problems with accommodation are expected. You may see these hotels during opening ceremonies on April-may,” he added.
Kolesnikov also informed that police officers and medical workers “are armed” with the English language. In addition, every host city will present soon its festivity program: concerts, mass events. “We will have trainings in all four host-cities,” Vice PM noted.
