PR does not support government’s anti-crisis program

Commenting on the prospects of presentation and approval of the Anti-crisis program of the government, Member of Parliament, the Party of Regions parliamentary faction member Mykhailo Chechetov noted: “Tymoshenko will stick solidly to the levers of manual administration of the country’s finance and economy, and try hard to impede the approval of the common Anti-crisis program.”

The politician opined that now the prime minister finds no point in passing the common Anti-crisis program and systemic alterations to the 2009 budget envisaging resource potential for implementation of this program, ForUm informs, referring to the Party of Regions press service.

“Today Tymoshenko’s and her political force’s rating is plummeting down, and approval of the common Anti-crisis program along with systemic alterations to the budget will deprive her of the levers of manual administration of the economy and finance. And it means for her a total political fiasco in the upcoming elections,” Mykhailo Chechetov noted.

He marked at the same time that the Party of Regions will vote neither for the Anti-crisis program nor for alterations to the budget.

“Because those who will vote, will carry the responsibility for implementation of this program and budget, and we do not have governance levers. We are not in power, and do not influence neither financial nor economic policy. We will not shift onto our shoulders the authorities’ failures and rough mistakes, which brought the country to such a crisis situation,” he summed up.

Pysarenko: “gas wars” will remain in the past

Today the Constitutional Court of Ukraine is going to begin hearing on the constitutionality of the VRU appointment of Presidential elections for 25 October, 2009. The time Viktor Yushchenko will obtain his position depends on the decision of the CCU. However, many politicians say that the CCU has no right to set the date of the Presidential elections. “It means that its decision can not affect the date of the elections. As a lawyer, I am inclined to predict that the CCU will not determine another date for the elections,” MP from the BYuT Valeriy Pysarenko said in an interview to ForUm’s correspondent.

– Valeriy Pysarenko, today PM Yulia Tymoshenko is going to Moscow on working visit to participate in intergovernmental negotiations. What should be expected from this visit?

– As usual, we expect that the visit of Prime Minister will be successful, and all disagreements between Ukraine and Russia, which recently rose, will be solved.

I expect that issues on volumes of gas supplies will be finally solved, in order Ukraine could receive the exact amount of gas which it is able to consume.

– Can winter «gas war» with Russia affect today’s negotiations?

– Winter «gas war» was not between the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Russia . It was caused by other politicians. Exclusively due to the influence and political possibilities of Yulia Tymoshenko, that «gas war» was finished. So I do not think that now such wars should be expected.
I think that the «gas wars» will soon remain in the history.

– Now the Ukrainian politicum is discussing possibility of coalition between the BYuT and PR. Are negotiations being held now?
– Now this message is purely spread by mass media. To date, it can be said only one thing: proposal for a coalition creation with participation of all political forces, including the Party of Regions, remains in force. This proposal was made by Prime Minister at the end of last year. So today, if PR responds to this proposal and gives its consent, I do not see the problem that the
political team of PR to strengthen the current coalition in parliament.

Lytvyn Bloc faction leader Ihor Sharov said that the best model of government in Ukraine looks like this: Volodymyr Lytvyn – President, Arseniy Yatsenyuk – Chairman of the VRU, Yulia Tymoshenko – Prime Minister. Do you like that?

– Perhaps it would be good. But I think that Volodymyr Lytvyn is now successfully implementing its functions as VRU chairman. We have not seen Lytvyn as president, but we have seen him in the role of VRU speaker.

In general, such predictions are unlikely to meet sociological research today.

Yanukovych: In theory coalition with BYuT is possible

Yanukovych: In theory coalition with BYuT is possible

The Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych says that he does not see possibilities for creation of coalition between the PR and BYuT. He said that in an interview with 5th TV channel, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

Yanukovych stressed that he holds meetings with Yulia Tymoshenko quite often. At the same time, there are many disagreements which are impossible to overcome.

“Now I do not see possibilities to overcome these disagreements. The matter is not in me. I say: admit your mistakes and say the truth to Ukraine what happened with the country for that time,” Yanukovych said.

“I do not want to make any official statement, because we did not take any official decision yet. There is one truth. We should admit that now there is very complicated situation in the country. There are objective reasons – world financial crisis. And subjective reasons – our inner disagreements,” he added.

At the same time Viktor Yanukovych does not exclude that in theory it is possible now to create a new coalition. “Theoretically it is possible, but under one condition – if there will be understanding, which does not exist now,” he said.
