Lytsenko and Tarasyuk take their proper places?

Top five of BYuT: Lytsenko and Tarasyuk take their proper places?

BYuT is talking over possible party lists. “I may state that there will not be any cardinal shifts in the top five”, BYuT MP Valeriy Pysarenko disclosed to journalists. According to preliminary information, the BYuT list will be headed, as usual, by Yulia Tymoshenko, Oleksander Turchynov, and Mykola Tomenko. The top five may also include People’s Self-Defense leader Yuri Lutsenko and People’s Movement of Ukraine head Borys Tarasyuk, Delo daily reported.

The People’s Self-Defense claimed that it quitted the pro-presidential bloc as early as on Tuesday. However, so far PSD leader Yuri Lutsenko has not revealed his plans. According to MP Hennadiy Moskal, the decision whether to include Yuri Lutsenko into the top five depends solely on Yulia Tymoshenko, Oleksander Turchynov, and Ivan Kyrylenko. BYuT, in its turn, does not deny that it has been holding talks with other political parties, which were divided in opinion with the President. “We are ready to form a united center of democratic force in Ukraine”, MP Valeriy Pysarenko claimed on Wednesday. According to him, if they reach agreements, serious shifts may take place in the top ten of the BYuT list.

Another advantageous candidacy for the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko is Anatoliy Hrytsenko. He is also divided in opinion with the presidential team, and may attract additional votes to BYuT. “If Hrytsenko accepts the proposal from BYuT, he has far more chances to get into the top five than Tarasyuk”, said political scientist Yermolayev.

According to the information of Delo daily, the Party of Regions’s top five includes Victor Yanukovych, Hanna German, Borys Kolesnikov, Inna Bohoslovoska, and Yuri Boyko. “Regionals” have just finished discussions on their first five for the snap poll. At present, the second place will be occupied by Hanna German, who has made a breathtaking career in the Party of Regions. To compare, at the previous election, she occupied the modest 48th place in the list. Another good career was made by former Minister for Fuel and Energy Yuri Boyko. At the parliamentary election in 2007, he occupied the 49th place.

However, Nestor Shufrych, who used to publicly express his sympathy to Yulia Tymoshenko, was not included into the top five this time.

Yushchenko’s decision is a very grave blunder – Kwasniewski

By dismissing Verkhovna Rada, PresYushchenko shot himself in the foot, Poland’s former Pres Kwasniewski said on TVN24, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the report, Kwasniewski called Yushchenko’s decision a very grave blunder. “There was a chance to create a wide democratic coalition of BYuT, OU-PSD and the Lytvyn bloc, and we were working on it,” he added.

The results of a new snap election will be much the same as in 2007. Moreover, Pres Yushchenko “may suffer a substantial pratfall,” A. Kwasniewski said.

Meanwhile, the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine will delay for many months any serious talks on Ukraine’s entry in NATO and the EU, the ex-president said.
