Anti-presidential coalition to be formed in VRU?

Leader of the CPU Petro Symonenko urges political forces to form anti-presidential coalition in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The leader of the Communist party stated today during plenary sitting of the parliament.

“I urge all Members of Parliament, factions leaders, if you welcome this initiative of the Communist party to form anti-presidential coalition in the Verkhovna Rada.

Petro Symonenko urges to start negotiations on this question.

PR withdraws negotiations on coalition

PR withdraws negotiations on coalition

The political council of the Party of Regions took a decision to stop negotiations with other VRU factions concerning coalition formation for some period of time

The head of the PR’s faction Oleksandr Yefremov told journalists in the parliament.

According to him, there will be no negotiations “until representatives of the orange coalition clarify configuration”.

In connection with the withdrawal from the negotiation process on coalition formation the Party of Regions wants “to hear the opposite side and what they agreed about.”

“Everywhere they make statements on that they are holding talks in he format of three factions. We’d like to get official results of these talks, and then we will determine our position,” he said.

According to him, all this time “the talks were at the level of factions’ representatives, there were meetings between faction leaders, meetings between the leaders of the political forces.”

“We are ready to resume the negotiations if we get official and concrete propositions,” Yefremov said.

Yushchenko: today Tymoshenko and Medvedchuk are first partners

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko claimed this at a meeting with the Atlantic Council of the United States at the offices of Chadbourne & Parke LLP in New York on Wednesday.

According to the President, Yulia Tymoshenko started the constitutional process (introducing amendments into the Constitution) as early as in May.

And this document was not signed in Ukraine. “The document was developed with the assistance of Victor Medvedchuk [Chief of Staff of Ukraine’s ex-President Kuchma] for Yulia Tymoshenko’s Bloc and the Prime Minister personally”, the Ukrainian President said.

Victor Yushchenko is convinced that “Tymoshenko and Medvedchuk are the first partner in the Ukrainian politics today. They are first partners, this is the first corresponding pair. And [it formed] not now, and not a month or two ago”.

The President disclosed: “As soon as I submitted Yulia Tymoshenko’s candidacy to parliament, I proposed her candidacy twice for they elected her, she came to me the very next day and asked to appoint Medvedchuk either as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia, or as a Deputy Prime Minister. I categorically said that this person would never be in the Ukrainian powers”, the President said.

Fund of Oleksandr Feldman to help orphans to find families

The “Fund of Oleksandr Feldman” initiates the pilot project in Ukraine “Protect childhood” and launches it from October 1. The aim of the project is to help orphans to find families

The chairman of the Fund, Ukraine‘s MP from BYuT Oleksandr Feldman told a press conference in IMC media hall.

Our aim is to find a family for every orphan in Ukraine. We are interested in that the ward system as it is now stops existing,” he underlined.

He informed that this pilot project is aimed at Kharkiv orphans for now, but will have a continuation. “I hope this project would become a good start,” Feldman said.

Feldman called Mass Media to take active part in the project and expressed a hope that information about orphans will spread all over the country.

The Hasidim coming to Uman to celebrate New Year

This week the annual pilgrimage of the Hasidim to Ukraine has started, State border service informed.

They go to the Uman city, Cherkassy region, to celebrate Judaic New Year Rosh Hashanah at the grave of their spiritual leader- saddik Nakhman.

According to the data of the border service, frontier guards have already registered 1409 pilgrims.

State border service and other law enforcement departments are taking measures to provide effective passing of pilgrims, order observance and registration. Airports, train stations and automobile check points have prepared to receive the Hasidim. Frontier guards are ready to allot separate lanes and places of registration.

Uman is a traditional place of the annual pilgrimage of the Hasidim.

Akhmetov’s hospital has been looted

A group of unknown vandals looted the hospital #21, the one where the richest Ukrainian Rinat Akhmetov was registered when he was a child. It happened Monday morning, after the birthday of the businessman.

“17 cabinets, including mine were smashed,” deputy chief physician Valentyna Smotritel told “Segodnya”. “Only keyboard and mouse were left, the rest was gone,” she added. The vandals stole 4 computers, but not for sale. The computers were burnt down across the road. Thieves stole only office equipment. Medicines were not touched.

Yanukovych to be deprived of Russian order?

The order of the St. Aleksandr Nevsky prince, with which leader of the Party of Regions party Viktor Yanukovych was decorated, is recognized as invalid.

The Russian Prosecutor General’s office reports.

“The Russian Prosecutor General’s office and the Federal Security Service of Russia together with Federal Taxation Service of Russia, Justice Ministry of Russia, Heraldic Council under the Russian President found out violations of the law in the activity… of the autonomous non-commercial organization “National committee of public awards,” the statement says.

Earlier, on July 8 on Birthday of Viktor Yanukovych “National committee of public awards” took a decision on decorating him with the order of the St. Aleksandr Nevsky prince.
