No documents – no high treason

Secretariat of the President did not deliver any documents proving the high treason of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. Deputy Prosecutor General Tetyana Kornyakova told journalists. “We have only Security Service letter for consideration,” she said.

As a reminder, the Presidential Secretariat of Ukraine claimed that it handed to law-enforcement agencies some materials about traces of high treason and political corruption in activities of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko.

According to deputy President’s Chief of Staff Andriy Kyslynskiy, the Secretariat has got information that the political leadership of the Russian Federation has been considering with a particular attention the decision to support Tymoshenko’s candidacy at the upcoming Ukrainian Presidential election after she fulfills a condition of a passive position of the Prime Minister of Ukraine and her political force concerning the conflict with Georgia.

“A center headed by Victor Medvedchuk was created in Moscow to coordinate the Election-2010 project. The center also includes Serhiy Klyuyev, Hryhoriy Surkis, and Oleksander Zadorozhny. Dmytro Tabachnyk will be busy with humanitarian projects in Ukraine”, the statement of the Presidential Secretariat reads.

At the same time, according to O.Kyslynskiy, nearly US $1 billion dollars have already been reserved for implementation of the Yulia Tymoshenko project.

“Last week we claimed that there was information concerning a systematic work of Yulia Tymoshenko in favor of the Russian side’s interests. Unfortunately, this information has been confirmed. Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko has already crossed her Rubicon, and, obviously, there is no way back. Her stance on Georgia is connected namely with this fact – she has no opportunity for political maneuvers”, A.Kyslynskiy claimed.

“The work of the election headquarters has in fact been kicked off. Ukrainian financial-industrial groups, which already supported the pro-Russian project in 2004, are joining it. Paying a visit to Sardinia with her closest entourage, Yulia Tymoshenko calls to join under her banners “the yesterday’s people”, who, headed by Medvedchuk, are seeking to revenge. Recently L.D.Kuchma [ex-President of Ukraine] has joined them on personal invitation of Yulia Tymoshenko”, the deputy President’s Chief of Staff claimed.

“We studied very well the hand and methods of this company in 2004. That is why you should not be surprised with seeing the insolent information campaign, flows of lies and noise effects, such as a new political reform or attempts of President’s impeachment. We transfer our materials to law-enforcement agencies for a detailed investigation. The society has a right to get an answer to the question how far can politicians go, and where a political struggle finishes and treason of national interests begins”, A.Kyslenskiy said.

Yushchenko urges local councils to struggle against new majority

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko urges representatives and members of the regional, city and district councils to preserve national course of Ukraine and unite against any “new” and, I’m sure, short-lived unions in the VRU”.

It is stated in the address of the Head of the State to local people’s deputies, published by the President’s press office.

“I address you State figures who know needs and expectations of Ukraine. You are elected by the people and nobody else know the situation in every region as you do.

The events in the parliament have made serious threat for democratic choice of Ukraine. The activity of the coalition has been stopped, this is fraught with danger to reconsider all national priorities to principles of democratic governing, including the local one,” it is stated in the address.

“The characteristic feature – new majority has started its work with decisions concerning authorities. Real needs of people were left in the background.

With all responsibility for preservation of national course of Ukraine I urge you and all national forces to unification in spite of any hasty and, I’m sure, short-lived unions in the VRU.

I ask you to resist any provocations.

I urge councils where democratic majority works not to admit its collapse and demonstrate that personally motivated actions of separate leaders could be corrected by consolidating will of all nationally conceived politicians and citizens of Ukraine.

I’m sure that our firm national position will sober people who have taken great interest in another election calculations and it will become a basis for normal political life in the country and real work of true national democratic coalition,” the President says.

Yan Bernazyuk, chief of the service for relations between the parliament and government of Ukraine at the Presidential Secretariat, claims that today representatives of the Presidential Secretariat, including him personally, were not allowed to attend the session of government.

Yan Bernazyuk claimed this to journalists at the entrance to the government’s session hall today.

He stressed that the Secretariat fulfilled all the necessary procedures, in particular, it sent a respective letter signed by President’s Chief of Staff Victor Baloha to the government, with request to allow Ya.Bernazyuk attending the session.

“Today, for the first time over 17 years of the Ukrainian independence, the Prime Minister did not let representatives of the Ukrainian President to be present at a session of government”, Yan Bernazyuk claimed, adding that representatives of the government’s secretariat asked him to leave the building because “the Prime Minister forbade [him] to take part in the session”.

Yan Bernazyuk believes he was not allowed to attend because today the government was due to consider 4 issues, which, according to him, have a clear “Kremlin trace”. “The matter concerns giving 85 permits on use of mineral products without any contests, sales, and tenders”, Yan Bernazyuk states.

PGO did not bring criminal case against Tymoshenko

PGO did not bring criminal case against Tymoshenko

The Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine did not bring any criminal case against Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko on facts of high treason.

Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Tetyana Kornyakova claimed this to journalists in the Cabinet of Ministers today.

“No case was brought. There was just a letter [from SBU] that listed facts and speculations, and asked to create an investigatory group. But such a group may be created only within frames of a criminal case demanding a joint investigation”, T.Kornyakova said.

The deputy Prosecutor General stressed that, as there is no criminal case, there is no need to create a group to investigate into it.

Besides, T.Kornyakova has no information about whether Yulia Tymoshenko addressed to PGO on facts of round-the-clock surveillance and tapping her telephone talks.

The deputy Prosecutor General also stressed she has no information about facts of pressure put upon her colleagues, about which Yulia Tymoshenko announced at a press conference on September 8.

“I make decisions independently, upon agreeing them with the Prosecutor General, because he is the head of the PGO. No pressure was put on me personally. I have no contacts with Bankova [the Presidential Secretariat’s street]”, T.Kornyakova pointed out.

As reported earlier, on September 8 Yulia Tymoshenko claimed she was summoned to PGO on Sept 11.
