Tymoshenko about amendments to state budget 2008

Making amendments to 2008 State Budget will give a serious impulse for the development of national industry and will afford to improve social payments. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated during her meeting with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk and leaders of parliamentary coalition factions, the Cabinet’s press service reports.

The Head of Government said owing to the activity of the whole country and the Government there exist grounds to make changes into the State Budget. Among them, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, high economic growth – at the level of 6.4%, record amounts of foreign investments drawn to the Ukraine’s economy (fourfold against the analogous period of the last year), slowing down of inflation processes, extra incomes from de-shadowing of economy. Premier stressed “this enabled Government to envisage in the consolidated budget additional UAH 30.4 billion”.

“Because of making changes to the budget we are capable of implementing the state programs today, of giving a serious impulse for the development of plane-construction and space industries, of financing construction of roads, supporting national publishing, ensuring state order for enterprises of defense-industrial complex, increasing wages for budget employees from September 1. It is a powerful instrument long awaited by the society,” the Head of Government emphasized.

At the meeting Yulia Tymoshenko said the Government is ready to submit to the Parliament a draft State Target Program for preparing and holding in Ukraine European Football Championship 2012.

“Euro-2012 appears not only an actual section of our activity the Government actually possesses the State Target Program for preparing Euro-2012 for today which has to be approved by the law. We are ready to forward it to the Parliament to endorse,” Premier noted.

Prime Minister: Euro-2012 is not commented

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine prohibited the comments concerning the preparation to Euro-2012 in Ukraine, stated Head of the National agency on preparation of Ukraine to Euro-2012 Yevheniy Chervonenko.

According to Chervonenko, PM Yulia Tymoshenko prohibited to give comments concerning the preparation of Ukraine to Euro-2012.

He said Euro-2012 will be held in Poland-Ukraine, if this question is not politically loaded. “Euro-2012 is prepared best in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and partly Odessa. I am sure Ukraine is able to hold Euro-2012 on the appropriate level, if this question is not involved into politics,” said Chervonenko, as Liga reports.

As ForUm reported, British media spread information that Ukraine may lose the right to hold the European Final Football Championship in 2012. It is possible in particular because of the absence of construction works on the main stadium of the state – NSK “Olympic”.

The UEFA experts, inspecting “Olympic” in May this year, stated that the realization of any project on the NSK “Olympic” is impossible because of the lack of understanding of urgency and clear awareness from the Ukrainian side.

MFA of Ukraine and Russia develop epistolary style

MFA of Ukraine calls the Russian side get rid of the habit to interfere into the internal affairs of Ukraine.

“The constant flow of statements from the RF official representatives about Ukraine indicate the purposeful actions against our state,” said Kyrylych, in a reply for the indignation of MFA of RF concerning the festive measures in Ivano-Frankivsk on May 24-25, devoted to 65 years after the creation of SS “Halychyna”.

According to him, progressive and methodological misrepresentation of the historic-cultural heritage of Ukraine, made by the official representatives of RF, is nothing but an effort to distract the international public from the discussion of crimes committed by NKVD, which are ranked to “heroes” today.

“The creators of myths about Ukraine try to return our country in the area of the soviet empire influence and discredit Ukraine on the international scene,” said the Ukrainian diplomat, as Interfax-Ukraine reports.

As ForUm reported, on June 24, DIP MFA of RF expressed indignation concerning the measures in Ivano-Frankivsk on May 24-25, devoted to 65 years after the creation of SS “Halychyna”.

One dissatisfied parliamentarian enough to paralyze the Parliament

Ihor Rybakov and Yuriy But can be excluded from the party, but they can’t be deprived of the deputy’s mandate, said the people’s deputy (BYuT), head of the VR Committee on legal matter, Serhiy Mishchenko in his interview to “Delo”.

According to him, the withdrawal of Rybakov (BYuT) was a hard blow to the faction, though “everyone knew he would leave the coalition”. “I knew about Rybakov’s plans 3 months ago and gave a warning at the faction sitting,” said the parliamentarian.

Mishchenko also said Rybakov came to him for advice. “According to him, the leader of BYuT faction promised him an assignment in customs service and the post of the head of the customs sub-committee in the VR Committee on ensuring law-enforcement activities. He was what they call it, “passed over the post”. It’s clear he was disappointed,” explained the parliamentarian, as Liga reports.

The parliamentarian said he informed the BYuT faction leader about Rybakov’s problem. “I was assured they would talk to him. I think my words were taken to consideration and they talked, probably, their arguments were not sufficient. I’m still afraid that other, not satisfied, can also leave,” said the politician.

As ForUm reported earlier, on June 6, two people’s deputies Ihor Rybakov (BYuT) and YuriyBut (NU-NS) withdrew from the coalition.

PACE will recognize genocide of Ukrainians if ?

PACE will recognize genocide of Ukrainians if ?

During the summer session, opened the day before, the Parliament Assembly of European Council will examine the question of Holodomor, said Brussels observer, expert in Europe-Ukrainian subject area George Dura.

Though, according to Dura, it’s unlikely PACE will recognize Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainians on the European level until it is done by the national parliaments of the leading EU countries. “This decision of PACE resulted from Kyiv’s insufficient lobbying own position,” said the observer.

“For the recent years Ukraine has activated its diplomatic and explanatory work, directed on the international recognition of Holodomor.

European institutions don’t hurry with the decision, waiting for the leading countries of EU – Germany, France Great Britain – and Israel. All these countries have own cautions, when concerning Holodomor. For example, Great Britain, if recognizing Holodomor in Ukraine, may create grounds for complaint from Ireland for “potato holodomor” in 1845. There are two variants for Ukraine in this situation: to lobby own position more intensively, especially in the European Parliament, or look for diplomatic compromise with Russia,” said Dura, as Liga reports.
