How People’s deputies blocked podium and congratulated Lutsenko (photo)

Today during plenary session of the VRU People’s deputies managed to block podium, adopt agenda of the parliament for December 18 and congratulate Yury Lutsenko on his birthday.

As a reminder today, VRU chairman Arseny Yatsenyuk informed that according to agenda of the parliament, on December 18 People’s deputies must elect Prime Minister, dismiss Viktor Yanukovych from position of PM and current government, form new composition of the government, elect vice speakers and adopt a resolution of VR committees.

 
274 people’s deputies voted for such decision: PR – 0, BYuT – 156, OU-PSD – 71, CPU – 27, Lytvyn bloc – 20.

Ukraine and EU to form supervisory committee on visa regime simplification

Ukraine and EU to form supervisory committee on visa regime simplification

Ukraine and the European Union have agreed to form a committee which will observe the implementation of the agreement on visa regime simplification. Director of the consular service Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Borys Bazilevsky stated at today’s press conference.

According to him, it is planned to elaborate rules and procedure of work of this committee.

He has informed that at next sitting of this committee in March-April, 2008 analysis of implementation of the agreement on visa regime simplification will be carried out.

Bazilevsky has also informed that today during negotiations with representatives of the European commission the agreement was achieved to elaborate document which could foresee rules of implementation of agreement on visa regime simplification.

On Monday parliamentary minority to define first VRU speaker

On Monday Lytvyn bloc, Party of Regions and Communist party will define who will obtain position of the first VRU speaker. The CPU leader Petro Symonenko told the journalists, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

He noted that discussing issue on this position, his faction did not participated in “exchanges and speculations”.

As a reminder, Olexander Turchynov noted that only representative from PR or Lytvyn bloc can obtain a position of first speaker of the VRU.

Coalition is accused of attempt to “split” factions of minority

Despite coalition calls itself democratic, it acts in a not democratic way. The PR member Yury Myroshnychenko told journalists, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“They said in public that would support any candidature for the position of first vice speaker. Now they make conditions: this one we will support, that one we will not,” he said.

According to Myroshnychenko, it is nothing more than attempt to split the factions of the minority and not to have united opposition.

According to Myroshnychenko, coalition, at first proposing Martynyuk for the position of first VRU speaker and than refusing to support him, is fighting not for its principles but for split of powerful opposition.

Myroshnychenko has said that there are ideological, personal and other conflicts in coalition. Oranges want to split opposition by proposing of definite political bribes. But PR will stand for its single candidature for the position of the first vice speaker.

Symonenko explained why CPU supported “oranges”

CPU leader Petro Symonenko explained journalists why his political force voted for agenda on December 18. The ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“We voted for agenda as it is foreseen by VRU regulations. According to the regulations, if the President submits nomination for the position of PM, this issue is considered urgently,” he said.

Answering the journalists question on possible unexpected events during the voting for Tymoshenko he said; “It will depend on scenario on VRU discredit. I know for sure that such scenario exists.”

Symonenko also noted that his faction would not vote for Tymoshenko.

Lytvyn’s bloc refused from position of first vice speaker

Leader of Lytvyn’s bloc Volodymyr Lytvyn in an interview with parliamentary journalists commented on the statement of People’s deputy from the BYuT Olexander Turchynov concerning the appointment of one of the bloc of Lytvyn’s representative to the position of the first vice speaker. ForUm’s correspondent reports.

“If I haven’t agreed to the position of the VRU chairman, it is obvious that we will not take part in the nomination of candidacy for the position of the deputy VRU head.

According to him, the faction of the Lytvyn’s bloc doesn’t want to take part in formation of the VRU presidium.

Earlier, People’s deputy from the BYuT Olexander Turchynov claimed that if the minority had a desire to nominate representative from the PR or the Lytvyn’s bloc for the position of the first vice speaker, then the coalition would support such candidacy.

Coalition did not want to vote for Tymoshenko “with fights”

Every day Yulia Tymoshenko has the more chances to become a PM. BYuT member Olexander Turchynov told the journalists, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

According to him, the decision to vote by raising hands was adopted in order to avoid accusations that somebody pressed the voting button instead of somebody else.

Turchynov noted that coalition was ready to vote for Tymoshenko today, however did not want to do so “with fights”.

Turchynov hopes on Tuesday voting procedure will be observed as all factions representative put their signatures under the protocol. Turchynov noted that one week of blocking the podium by PR had compromised this political force. Another week of such behavior along with new demands and tricks would be impossible.
