Turchynov hopes opposition will not show its fear of Tymoshenko

Tomorrow coalition will insist on consideration of Tymoshenko’s appointment to PM position and formation of new government at the first place. One of the BYuT leaders Olexander Turchynov told parliamentary journalists, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“We made all possible compromises and concessions,” he explained.

According to Turchynov, there are no procedural, legal or physical preventions concerning voting for PM and formation of new government. “I hope our opponents will not demonstrate their fear of Tymoshenko and they will not block parliamentary podium again, trying to prevent voting,” he added.

Turchynov noted that after interference into the work of “Rada” system, it cant start working effectively. However, there are other ways of voting: roll-call bulletins or raising hands, for example.

BYuT intensified Tymoshenko's guarding

BYuT intensified Tymoshenko’s guarding

BYuT has intensified interior guarding of its leader Yulia Tymoshenko. It is caused by statements of possible attack. BYuT member Olexander Turchynov told today, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

According to Turchynov, the first who mentioned about possible attack to Tymoshenko was member ofSingle Russia, leader of Political Researches Institute, member of the Civil chamber of Russia Sergey Markov. Then such information was publicized on site of “Ukrtelecom” Jsc. Moreover, unknown person tried to warn Tymoshenko about attempt on her life.

“We have intensified interior guarding of our leader,” he said.

Moreover, according to Turchynov, Yulia Tymoshenko is asked not to appear in the parliament.

BYuT applied to the SBU to check information about possible attack to Tymoshenko.

Ukraine wants to set up memorial plaque to Taras Shevchenko

The National culture council on under the President of Ukraine initiates the establishment of the first memorial plaque to poet Taras Shevchenko, dedicated to his 150th anniversary of his birth.

The corresponding initiative was presented by chairman of the National Council Mykola Zhulynsky at today’s meeting with President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko.

The President’s advisor proposed to set up the memorial plaque in the capital of the Russian Federation, near the Russian academy of painting, sculpture and architecture.

Zhulynsky said that in March, 1858 Taras Shevchenko visited his friend painter Mokrytsky, who lived and worked in this building.

Lytvyn: Everybody retards appointment of Tymoshenko

Leader of Lytvyn bloc Volodymyr Lytvyn intended parliamentarians to consider all staff issues at the conciliatory meeting today, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

According to Lytvyn, nobody except him strives for it. Everybody somehow retards process of PM election and formation of new government. Today there was no voting in the parliament because coalition lacks votes. OU-PSD and BYuT need to gather the whole coalition to get effective voting.

As a reminder, one BYuT People’s deputy left Kyiv because of his mother funeral

Yatsenyuk opened evening sitting of parliament

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has opened evenings sitting of the parliament. ForUm’s correspondent reports.

226 People’s deputies are registered in the VRU hall.

Yatsenyuk has noted that at present the conciliatory meeting is still being held and that’s why he can’t put any question for vote.

Ukrainian – Polish Forum timed to Euro-2012 starts in Wroclaw

The international Ukrainian – Polish Forum of local authorities, timed to Euro-2012, started in the Polish city of Wroclaw, Cabinet’s press service reports.

The participants in the meeting were presented with 12 projects of stadiums to be built in Ukrainian and Polish cities, which will host the finals. Some of them are already being realized: building is underway in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Poznan.

The biggest stadium among those presented during the forum will be the stadium in Kyiv, which can host some 80,000 spectators.

UEFA adopted a decision on holding the finals of Euro-2012 in Poland and Ukraine. In Ukraine matches will be held in Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Kharkiv are reserve cities.

Lutsenko is against of voting by raising hands

Lutsenko is against of voting by raising hands

On of the leaders of OU-PSD Yury Lutsenko considers that all staff issues in the VRU must be voted by bulletins. He told today in the parliament, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“As for me, I am against of raising hands during voting. I consider it is not proper way of voting which could satisfy our opponents with transparency of voting process. Roll-call bulletins are the best way,” he said.

At the same time, Lutsenko noted that he is not aware yet about the way PM will be elected.

He has noted that he is confident in his coalition colleagues. We have 227 votes and they will be given for Yulia Tymoshenko.

Turchynov: Yatsenyuk can’t answer for system “Rada”

One of the BYuT leaders Olexander Turchynov in an interview with parliamentary journalists stated that head of the Verkhovna Rada can’t answer for effective work of the “Rada” system. ForUm’s correspondent reports.

According to him, this system is not protected and is not certified, and there is no tight control over it today.

Besides, Turchynov reminded that in 2005 he sent an official letter to VRU speaker with the demand to hold attestation of the “Rada” system in order to prevent unauthorized access to it and to simplify the procedure of vote.

The People’s deputy has informed that according to head of the VRU apparat Valentyn Zaychuk, the parliament has no time to hold attestation and it will be held later.
