VRU remains source of political instability

Yushchenko: VRU remains source of political instability

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko stated that Ukrainian parliament still remains a source of political instability. He said that in an interview to “1+1” channel, the ForUm informs, referring to the president’s press office.

Speaking about beginning of work on new parliament, President noted necessity of its stable activity. “The whole society begins to understand that problem number one is not a macroeconomics or social standards but political instability,” Yushchenko noted. At that he noted that a source of this instability remains Ukrainian parliament.

Moreover, in an interview the matter also concerned reformation of coal branch, taking into consideration accident in Zasyadko mine; solution of issues related to Russia, in particular accident in Kerch channel; 75th– commemoration of the Holodomor 1932-1933.

President paid PM’s attention to VAT

In his letter to Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, President Viktor Yushchenko noted lack of Government’s steps towards regulating the issue of budgetary compensations of VAT, president’s press office reported.

President reminded that during his address to the government he had raised this question. However Cabinet of Ministers did not provide him with any information about the issue being discussed, nor it worked out any measures aimed at effective resolution of the issue.

Besides Yushchenko said that despite his numerous requests State Tax Administration of Ukraine did not provide him with any information on total amount of uncompensated VAT. President added that State Tax Administration of Ukraine “is concealing realistic condition of the issue and sends figures of VAT compensations to President’s Secretariat in arbitrary form”.

Regarding this President requested Prime Minister to apply appropriate disciplinary actions to officials who treat their duties irresponsibly and to take measures to resolve the problem of VAT compensations and proper provision of the information by State Tax Administration of Ukraine concerning the subject.

One People’s deputy was not included in PR faction

People’s deputy Andriy Orlov, elected in the VRU by the lists of the Party of Regions, has not taken an oath because is ill and now is in a hospital. PR representative Vasyl Kyselyov stated, answering a question why only 174 People’s deputies instead of 175, registered in the CEC, have entered the faction of the Party of Regions.

According to Kyselyov, as soon as Orlov discharges from the hospital, he will take an oath of the People’s deputy and will be registered as the member of the PR faction.

Ternopil will honor memory of Holodomor by 33 hour fasting

In the city of Ternopil people will remember victims of the Holodomor 1932-1933 by 33 hour fasting. Such action is held in November already four years.

“Every person, who will participate in this action of his own will, undertakes himself to refuse from food from 7 a.m. on November 23 up to 4 p.m. on November 24. It will be some personal sacrifice of each of us for prayer of souls of killed victims of the Holodomor 1932-1933,” the referent of Ukrainian union of Youth Yury Zarutsky said.

According to him, only people older 18 years old and who have not any medical contraindications are invited to participate in this action.

For the first time this action was held in 2003. Last year not only citizens of Ukraine but representatives of Georgia, Great Britain and Slovakia participated in this action.

Katerynchuk thinks that Bohatyryova breaks regulations

People’s deputy of the sixth convocation form the OU-PSD faction Mykola Katerynchuk considers the postponing of the next VRU session to next Thursday, November 29, as a gross violation. He stated in an interview with parliamentary journalists, the ForUm’s correspondent reports.

Katerynchuk has reminded that question on date appointment of the next VRU session must be put for voting. “They didn’t have enough votes to take the decision on the session postponing to next Thursday,” he explained.

According to the People’s deputy, it is necessary convene the sitting of the working group on the preparation for the first session of the parliament of the sixth convocation. At the same time Katerynchuk has not specified when this sitting can take place.

Moroz is concerned about new parliament

Moroz is concerned about new parliament

Ex speaker Olexander Moroz submitted to the parliament information in a written form about work of the VRU of V convocation, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

Moroz said that very soon every Ukrainian would feel results of unlawful changes of power. According to him, it will influence budget quality, price hike and inflation.

Moroz opined that great promises of politicians during election campaign would not be fulfilled. He has noted that now some politicians have already refused from their promises, in particular the matter concerns issues on contract army and paying off debts of state loan of USSR.

“Under conditions of current state crisis all populist statements are nothing more but soap bubbles,” he said.

According to him, new power will hardly provide normal development of Ukraine. New parliament can become not center of state initiative but center of state scandals and will spend efforts for intrigues. Some politicians are responsible for this chaos. It is a real betrayal of Ukrainian people.

Tymoshenko has accused Bohatyryova of amateur performances

The parliament in Ukraine will work in any circumstances. Yulia Tymoshenko has stated in an interview with journalists, ForUm’s correspondent reports.

According to the BYuT leader, the PR intentionally procrastinates the work of the Verkhovna Rada because they need several days more.

Tymoshenko has also noted that there is a unique situation in Ukraine. She has reminded that in many countries, where the early elections took place, parliament and government have started their work.

Tymoshenko has promised that on Tuesday the BYuT faction will come to the parliament and she expressed her hope that the OU-PSD will also be present in the VRU on that day. She has reminded that votes of these two factions will be enough in order to start the VRU work and to take decisions.

Besides, Tymoshenko has emphasized that the postponing of the VRU session from next Tuesday on Thursday is the amateur performances of Raisa Bohatyryova.

President sent letter to PM

President Viktor Yushchenko sent a letter to Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych emphasizing that reforming of housing and communal services is drawn back by number of negative factors, President’s press office reports.

The Governmentis todo some concrete steps towards solving communal issues including:

– improvement of legal basis in the field of housing and communal services

– improvement of drinking water quality

– discontinuance of renting water-supply facilities

– adjustment of cooperation between water-supply and heating-supply facilities

– discontinuance of irrational use of strategic groundwater sources by different water-supply facilities

President requested that PM informs him on the results of the work before December 20, 2007
