Yushchenko officially dismissed Cabinet, Poroshenko and Skomarovsky

Yushchenko officially dismissed Cabinet, Poroshenko and Skomarovsky

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko signed the edict “On termination of plenary powers of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Timoshenko and dismissal of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.” The edict is published on the official site of the President.

“In accordance with item 9, part 1, article 106 and part 3, article 115 of Constitution of Ukraine I decree:

1. To terminate plenary powers of PM of Ukraine Yulia Vladimirovna Timoshenko in connection with my decision about dismissal of PM of Ukraine.

2. To accept the dismissal of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with its full complement.

3. To charge Yuri Ivanovich Ekhanurov with duties of PM of Ukraine.

4. To charge members of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with executing their plenary powers till the new-formed Cabinet starts working.

President also signed the edict about dismissal of Pert Poroshenko from the post of Secretary of National Security and Defense Council “in connection with the entered resignation declaration.”

Besides, President signed the edict about dismissal of Vladimir Skomarovsky from the post of Chairman of State customs service of Ukraine “in connection with the entered resignation declaration.”

Timoshenko thanked ex-ministers for their work

Ex-PM Yulia Timoshenko has thanked the members of her government for the successful joint work.

In particular, as reported by the action Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk, she positively estimated the work of each minister, and members of the government, in their turn, estimated the work of their team.

Acting vice PM Nickolay Tomenko said that on the last meeting of Cabinet the government came to the conclusion that it was the most successful government in history of the country.

Litvin calls to support Yushchenko’s position

Chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vladimir Litvin considers that the dismissal of Yulia Timoshenko’s Cabinet is not a crisis of the power, however is evidence of the crisis of the government. He made such statement in New-York, commenting on the dismissal of Cabinet, VR press-service reported to ForUm.

Speaker underlined that there is no needed to comment on the dismissal. He reminded it is the 11th government, which left the post against its will, but was fired.

Litvin pointed out that “there is certain instability in the Ukrainian society.” He said it is needed to speak about risks, which can appear, and “to make the best to minimize them.”

According to Litvin words, it is necessary to support Yushchenko’s position. As soon as President offers the new candidature for the post of PM, it is needed to consider and approve it immediately. After this, it is needed to give the new Premier an opportunity to form a team, which will be able to provide stable development of Ukraine before March 2006 (parliamentary elections – ed.).

Tarasyuk: Part of ex-ministers will work in the new Cabinet

Ex-minister for Foreign Affairs Boris Tarasyuk estimates today’s dismissal of the Cabinet as “a forced but necessary step of President,” ForUm’s correspondent informed.

According to data he has, foreigners treats President’s decision with understanding.

Besides, the former Minister answered in the affirmative the question whether the faces of the former ministers will be met in the new Cabinet.

“I think a part of the present members of the government will work in the new Cabinet,” said Tarasyuk.

Vladimir Litvin, Speaker of Verkhovna Rada, interrupts his visit to the USA in connection with governmental crisis in Ukraine.

Speaker returns to Ukraine Thursday.

As a reminder, Litvin departed for New-York for participation in the second world conference of heads of national parliaments.

Drizhchany occupied Turchinov’s chair

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko decreed to dismiss Alexander Turchinov from the post of Head of Security Service of Ukraine and designated Igor Drizhchany, as reported by President’s press-service.

44-year old Drizhchany held the post of deputy Head of SSU from February 2004. Before this office, he was the deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Yushchenko, Putin and Kvasnevsky had a phone conversation

The presidents discussed political situation of their states. President Yushchenko explained his counterparts his motives concerning the dismissal of the Cabinet.

The presidents state that the dismissal is the interior problem of Ukraine. They support Yushchenko who wish stability and effectiveness work of all branches of the power.

The counterparts pointed out the bilateral relations between countries are still unchangeable, strategic and friendly.

Vladimir Putin in particular mentioned that the political situation in Ukraine is the understandable process of formation effective cooperation between branches of the power.

The presidents of Ukraine and Russia discussed regulation and documents for consideration. Yushchenko-Putin Commission will start its work in the nearest future.

Putin’s visit to Ukraine was also under consideration.

Lucenko wants to keep the post of Minister

Yuri Lucenko expressed the readiness to continue the work on the post of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

“I do not take away my things from my cabinet,” said Lucenko to journalists.

According to his words, he is ready to leave the post in case new PM, President and the government will.

In response to the question about his further plans, Lucenko has said he has a lot of various ideas.

Commenting on the government’s dismissal, Lucenko stated that President Victor Yushchenko, as a leader, has taken his right and will start formation of the new government “from a clean page”.
