Miner died in Donetsk region

Workingman has died today at night. The incident happened in Bulavinskaya coal-mine, Enakievo town in Donetsk region.

He was miner, 35, and died from open craniocerebral injury in horizon 490, at the depth of 530 m.

Having arrived, the doctors verified death. The death injury was caused by sucking in conveyor which was turned on automatically.

Tarasyuk does not need Eurointegration Ministry

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Boris Tarasyuk, considers the formation of Eurointegration Ministry as an inexpedient action.

“The practice of other countries does not confirm expediency of separate ministry formation,” said Tarasyuk in Gdansk.

Minister referred to the Pole’s experience of Eurointegration. According to his data, the works were coordinated by interdepartmental council, headed by PM. Minister said the similar model was used in other states.

“I think it is needed to follow the tried and successful experience of, first of all, Poland,” pointed out Tarasyuk.

US allocates $2,000,000 to help Donetsk State Chemical Works

The U.S. Congress has allocated more than $2 million to help Ukraine destroy thousands of tons of obsolete weapons and air defense launchers, VOA News reported.

Senator Richard Lugar, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations committee, announced the program while visiting the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk. He said the funds are being disbursed under NATO’s Partnership for Peace program.

The senator said during the first stage of the program, the Donetsk State Chemical Works will receive $2 million from the United States and $1 million from NATO.

Initiated in 1994, the Partnership for Peace Trust Fund supports the safe destruction of stockpiled antipersonnel mines and other munitions.

NATO officials say the Partnership for Peace opened a new chapter in its relations with partner countries in Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Parliamentary elections will cost 700 million of budget money

Parliamentary elections will cost 700 million of budget money

Approximate sum of expenses, provided by state budget for holding parliamentary elections, makes 700 million hryvnias, as reported by Ministry of Finance Victor Pinzenik.

According to Act “On elections of people’s deputies”, election campaign starts 120 days before elections, i.e. at the end of November.

According to data from Central Election Commission, expenses for holding presidential elections 2004 made 477.1 million hryvnias.

Ukrainians to get new passport form in 2006

Yuri Lucenko Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced that the internal passport of new form will be introduced after the parliamentary elections-2006.

According to his words, Minister of Internal Affairs has no intentions for opposition to interpret it as governmental effort of falsification of the elections-2006.

Lucenko explained that current passports will be substituted by plastic card with electronic chip with all necessary data of person.

“Ministry of internal Affairs has all necessary equipment for producing of new ID,” stated he.

The same cards will be set instead of the certificate of birth for children.

Rabbit-fever has been registered in Ukraine

A dweller of Charukiv village, Volyn region was hospitalized with rabbit-fever in infectious ward of central district hospital.

Ministry for Emergency Control of Ukraine reports that ill woman, 39, is in the grave condition.

The specialists of district sanitation and epidemiological station are conducting antiepidemic and preventive measures in the very location.

On 7-10 September, the Economic Forum will be held in Krinitsa, Poland. Ukrainian delegation will take part in it. Polish representatives will discuss with Ukrainian counterpart the investment potential of Ukraine.

Kiev’s Days in Paris

On September 21-22, the Days of Kiev will be celebrated in Paris. The capital of Ukraine will be represented by prosperous enterprises and organizations.

Ukrainian organizers plan to conduct round-table discussions with French colleagues; the topics of discussions will be dedicated to the problems of development, reconstruction and improvement of different industrial branches. Ukrainians are to prepare “Kiev Investment Memorandum” which will be presented in oral and digital forms.

The following actions are in the agenda of the event: image film about Kiev, presentation of investment project of Ukrainian capital and architectural exhibition “The Past, the Present and the Future of Kiev.”
