Ukrainian cabinet has formed the Assistance Center for foreign investors

The Center will provide foreign investors in Ukraine with information, analytical, methodical and organizational support.

The main tasks of the Center are following: to create new Ukraine’s image which will be positively apprehend by foreign investors; to settle problems which may appear during work.  

Sergey Teryokhin Minister of Economy is appointed the head of the Center.

Boris Kolesnikov is back to work again

Boris Kolesnikov is back to work again

Today the Head of Donetsk Regional Council has come to his office in the afternoon.

He is working now in his private office in the Regional Council.

We remind that on August 2, Kiev Court of Appeal released Kolesnikov from custody under a written undertaking not to live a place.

Ukrainian journalists were not granted visas to Germany

Ukrainian journalists would have to cover XX World Youth Day and visit of Pope Benedict XVI but were denied of visa.  

The following journalists were not granted German visas: Express Lvovskaya Gazeta, Ratusha, Progress, Arka, Express Cool, Poradnyk newspapers; Lvovsky Portal, Western Information Corporation news agencies; the press services of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church and The First National Channel.

The journalists were not given the explanations. Besides, lots of these journalists have visited Schengen states.


They are going to appeal such actions in professional organizations, in particular in Reporters without Borders.

Ukrainian Minister of Justice: We cannot punish all criminals

Roman Zvarych, Minister of Justice of Ukraine states online in ForUm that "all bandits" will be not able to be thrown in jail.

In response to the question "when will the bandits put behind the bars," Zvarych answered "There are lots of bandits in Ukraine that is why we cannot find all of them and put behind the bars. I do not share your philosophy laid in your question. I reject any actions which may be interpreted as the revenge to the previous power. Vice versa I stand up for basement of new mutual understanding in the society. But if someone committees a crime he must be charged with it. It is the question of effectiveness of work of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies."

Ukrainian Socialists unsatisfy with privatization

Josef Vinsky, the head of Socialist Party states that the situation of privatization has not become clear and there is not still any logic in it.  

In particular, the deputy pointed out that "the privatization procedure has not been changed since the previous regime. We do not see the right and understandable logic of government toward this question. Current situation in this field of economy is look like grabbing."

Ukrainian Defense Minister: Ministry of Finance to destroy Army

Anatoly Gritsenko, Defense Minister states that Finance Ministry’s position toward Ukrainian Army may destroy it completely.

In particular, he pointed out that the problem of financing of Armed Forces of Ukraine has not been still resolved. The problem is included in state reform project for Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2006-2011.  

According to Gritsenko, Finance Ministry insists on increasing of defense budget in proportion with gross domestic product. "We cannot agree with it because there is no reason to speak about development of Armed Forces. We would doom Army to further reduction and degradation," mentioned he.  

Defense Minister of Ukraine states that if the problem of financing even by 2% of gross domestic product which is need by entrance into NATO, Ukrainian Armed Forces will not develop in the future.

The second block of Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

Today at 7 a.m. the second block ha started working after the planned repair which lasted 59 days.  

Radiation of industrial platform is 12 micro roentgens per hour and index of buffer area is 8-12 micro roentgens. These indexes are norms for APP.  

Zaporozhye APP is the most powerful nuclear plant in Europe and the leader of electroenergetics in Ukraine. This is the unique energy complex consists of six different energy blocks with 6,000 megawatt of capacity. The first block was built in 1984 and the last one in 1995.

Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and Kharkov Malyshev’s plant to modernize T-64

Defense Ministry and Kharkov plant will sign agreements on modernization of tank T-64 and production of T-84 basing on this enterprise which is the biggest producer of armored technics in Ukraine. The press service of Kharkov Regional State Administration reported.   

According to words of Vladimir Babayev, the first deputy Governor, all planned agreements were signed. The agreements were prepared according to the results of Ukrainian PM’s visit to Kharkov.
