Popularity rating of Ukrainian political parties

Ukrainian institute of social researches and Center "Social monitoring" promulgated the results of social researches of popularity of Ukrainian politicians and political parties. 2037 respondents have been questioned in May.

Narodniy Soyus "Nasha Ukraina" (People’s Union ‘Our Ukraine’) (headed by Victor Yushchenko) – 22.24% (in April – 24.5%)

Party of Regions (headed by Victor Yanukovich) – 11.1 % (In April – 14.5%)

Bloc of Julia Timoshenko (headed by Julia Timoshenko) – 8.7% (in April – 11.3%)

Communistic party of Ukraine (headed by Petr Simonenko) – 2.7% (in April – 4.7%)

Socialistic Party of Ukraine (headed by Alexander Moroz) – 2.5% (in April – 4.3%)

Progressive socialistic party of Ukraine (headed by Natalia Vitrenko) – 2.4% (in April – 2.9%)

People’s Party of Ukraine (headed by the speaker Vladimir Livin) – 2.1% (in April – 1.3%)

Social democratic party of Ukraine (united) (headed by Victor Medvedchuk) – 1.6% (in April – 0.9%)

"Women for future" (headed by Valentina Dovzhenko) – 1.2% (in April – 0.5%)

Green Party of Ukraine (headed by Vitaliy Kononov) – 1.0% (in April – 0.5%)

Party of industrialists and entrepreneurs of Ukraine (headed by the first vice-premier Anatoly Kinakh) – 0.8% (in April – 1%)

People’s Democratic Party of Ukraine (Valery Pustovoytenko) – 0.7% (April – 0.4%)

"Narodny Ruh" (People’s Motion) (the minister of Foreign Affairs Boris Tarasuk) – 0.6% (April – 0.3%)

"Soyus" Party (Union) (the head of Antimonopoly Committee Alexey Kostusev) – 0.6% (April – no data)

"Trudovaya Ukraina" (Labour Ukraine Party) (the former member of Party of Regions Valery Konovaluk) – 0.5% (April – 0.4%)

Ukrainian people’s party (Yuriy Kostenko) – 0.3% (April – 0.3%)

"Derzhava" Party (State) (Gennady Vasiliev) – 0.2% (April – 0.2%)

Ukrainian party "Edinstvo" (Unity) (the mayor of Kiev Alexander Omelchenko) – 0.1% (April – no data)

The amount of those who are at a loss for answer makes 21.4% (April – 38.6%)

Yanukovich has been invited to celebrate Elizabeth’s II birthday

The leader of Party of Regions, Victor Yanukovich spent the first part of the day, June 8, in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, where he prayed.

The same day Yanukovich acted in the American documentary movie "Three weeks in June: American views on Ukrainian events."

As the press-service of the party leader reported, Yanukovich would take part in ceremonial reception in Great Britain Embassy in the evening. The reception will be hold on the occasion of the queen’s Elizabeth II birthday.

Yushchenko to introduce proper order in land property

"We will introduce proper order in procedure of land receipt in 20-30 days," said Ukrainian president, Viktor Yushchenko.

Next week the government is going to introduce so-called "single window." It means that all kinds of resolutions for land usage (by legal person or natural person) will be given by one source.

Yushchenko stated that "single window" will be valid for small and medium business registration from July 1. It means that the corresponding services will give all necessary documents to entrepreneurs in a period of seven days: the number, tax index and state and statistic registration certificate.

Spontaneous cemetery in Lugansk region

The citizens of one suburb in Lugansk region started to bury the dead without permission. When there had appeared a great number of graves, it was found out that conduit goes under the cemetery.

"The situation caused a lot of discussions, but local authorities decided to show respect to the dead and to carry the conduit, not the cemetery," declared the Rubezhny city head, Anatoly Bucenko.

He added that Lisichansk-Rubezhans regional environment office of public prosecutor confirmed the legality of such an action. Carrying over works come to the end.

Youth will improve image of Ukraine in EU

During the press-conference "Formation of a single national youth platform" the expert on youth policy, the president of European youth parliament, Tatiana Paladko, declared that the question about Ukrainian youth organizations’ joining European youth forum is being discussed. According to her, it will improve the image of Ukraine in EU among youth.

Kiev mayor to give land to Iran

Iranian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador in Ukraine, Bahman Mobarake, asked Kiev mayor, Alexander Omelchenko, for the territory of Ambassador’s residence, Iranian school and Iranian embassy in Kiev to carry over to Iran. It was discussed today on the official meeting.

Kiev mayor agreed to do it in a period of two months. He explained that it could not be done faster because of the new power’s regulation "no action concerning the land property," "Internet reporter" informed.

Russian Navy sells out Ukrainian property

Ukrainian military Office of Public Prosecutor instituted seven criminal cases according to illegal sale of Crimean real estate, the deputy of military public prosecutor of Ukrainian Naval Forces, Sergey Nyanchur, informed.

In particular he said that officials of Marine Engineering Service of Russian Black Sea Navy sold a building and neighboring land on Sarych cape to commercial organizations. The Service had no right to do it, mentioned Nyanchur.

The damage has numbered 20,000 UAH, "Obkom" reported.

Nyanchur reported that there were eight cases of illegal Crimean land purchase that was annulled in the period of 2004-2005 according to his suits.

Piskun was bugged

Ukrainian General Office of Public Prosecutor has instituted proceedings against bugging of telephone conversation between Ukrainian prosecutor general, Svyatoslav Piskun, and American Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador in Ukraine, John Herbst.

The proceedings were given to Investigative Department of Security Service of Ukraine, the press service of General Office of Public Prosecutor reported.
