Yushchenko changed the structure of Security Service of Ukraine

The chairman of Security Service of Ukraine, Alexander Turchinov, reported that the president of Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko, signed an edict, by which he approved the new structure of SSU.

The new conception of SSU activity was proposed by Turchinov himself.

In particular, the number of departments and services will reduced from 20 to nine departments and one service. The total number of SSU officials will be reduced by 15%.

The socialists support the power initiation

The socialists said their pro about the substitution of added-value tax by realization tax, the deputy of Ukraine, the first secretary of Socialists Party, Josef Vinsky.

“Socialist Party of Ukraine has certainly supported the government initiation to substitute added-value tax,” said the deputy of Ukraine. “Socialists have discussed this question for five year trying to influence the situation. We are sure that added-value system needs changes.”

The deputy reminded that there is no basis in Ukraine for such kind of tax. “There is no overproducing in our country. Otherwise, Ukraine should be called the country of underproducing. That is why there are no needs to tax added-value,” “Glavred” reported.

“We stand up for the substitution of added-value tax by another system, which will be more suitable for Ukrainian business. It should be serious changes of the form and the content of the tax system,” summed up Vinsky.

Cabinet promises to enhance the prestige of teaching profession

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to bring salary of teachers to the average level in industry, the vice-prime minister of Ukraine, Nickolay Tomenko, reported to journalists.

He pointed out that this question has been discussed with the president of Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko, on the meeting concerning formations of budget resolution for the next year.

Besides, Cabinet plans to develop the special program, according to which the state will grand a certain sum of money (prepayment) to young teachers. "The best social programs of Soviet state will be renewed," said Tomenko. He also admitted that the government proposes the program of providing teachers with dwelling, possibly, by way of long-term credit.

According to Tomenko’s words, the presidential bill draft about enhancing the prestige of teaching profession is being prepared now.

Poroshenko discovered a plot

The secretary of National Security Service of Ukraine, Petr Poroshenko, stated that “there is someone in Ukraine who is hard working in order to demonstrate the split in Yushchenko’s circumference.”

Poroshenko’s statement commented on the latest events concerning the accusations of bribery against the minister of transport and communications of Ukraine, Evgeny Chervonenko, “Interfax-Ukraine” reported.

Poland rewards Crimean war veterans

Today, Crimean Second World War veterans fought with fascists in Poland were rewarded with Poland order "Pro memoria." The ceremony was took place in council of ministers of Crimea. The Consul General of Poland in Odessa, Andjey Sobchak, conducted the ceremony. In particular, he expressed Polish people’s thanks for the freedom of their country, and stated that their feat of arms will be always remembered by Poland.

EU will reduce visa regime for Ukraine…may be… somewhere

European Union would not say about possibility to reduce visa-regime for Ukraine in September. Such was a position of the official Brussels in response to the statement of the deputy of minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine, Valentin Nalivaychenko. 

The spokeswoman of the EU Commission for the Foreign Relations, Emma Udvin, said that September, according to EU plans, will be the only beginning of negotiations for this question. "We are working it out and we hope to begin the negotiations before the very summit "Ukraine-EU" in October,” said Udvin. The future of liberalization of visa-regime depends on the problem of illegal Ukrainian emigrants in EU, the official Brussels stated.

Ministry of Justice of Ukraine examines the Hague Conventions

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine prepares documents concerning joining of Ukraine to The Hague Conventions: the Convention about alimentary obligation of 1973, the Convention about civil aspects of kidnapping of1980, the Convention about parents’ responsibility and defense of children of 1966. On May 26, the deputy minister of justice of Ukraine, Vasily Marmazov, informed about it coming out in the meeting "The general trends of Hague Convention and the priorities of Ukraine participating in it." The General Secretary of Hague Convention, Hans van Loon, and representatives of power, international organizations took part in it.

Timoshenko proposes the USA to be investor

Ukraine invites the USA to take part in uranium mining and reconstruction of combined heat and power plant, informed the premier of Ukraine, Julia Timoshenko, coming out in the meeting with the secretary of energy of the USA, Samuel Bodman.

Timoshenko told about sufficient uranium recourses of Ukraine and the interest in the investment, the press service informed. In his turn, Samuel Bodman, reported that American government is willing to help Ukraine in strategy and consultation, other kind of aid including.

Besides, Ukraine proposed to American companies to take part in oil and gas exploration, "UNIAN" reported.

Timoshenko mentioned that despite Ukraine has got sufficient coal recourses, the outmoded facilities of the combined heat and power plant prevent the full-value using of the coal.
