REPORTERS WITHOUT BOURDERS do not like Chervonenko’s edict

Reporters without Borders express its anxiety of Ukrainian minister of transport and communications edict about the state registration of web-sites. It must be come into force on May 29, 2005.

Reporters without Borders pointed to the fact that there is such registration only in the states suppressing the freedom of speech, such as Vietnam and China.

"This step may damage the freedom of word in the web. We will thoroughly watch for the registration procedure in order to prevent the registration of private sites," said the representatives of the organization.

Reporters without Borders mentioned that the criteria of registration will not guarantee the freedom of mass-media in Ukraine, "Interfax-Ukraine" reported.

We remind that the edict was held up couple hours before.

The action of the edict of Ministry of transport and communication about state registration of internet-resources has been held up

The Ministry of transport and communication held up the action of the edict for the next ten days, the minister of transport and communication, Evgeny Chervonenko reported.

Chervonenko also added that the ministry intends to conduct public discussion about the edict, "Obkom" reported.

Chervonenko pointed to the fact that the project of the edict were in the web-site of the ministry.

He mentioned that there was no harm in the edict. When signed it, he took into account the necessity for the web-recourses to be clear.

We remind that the vice-premier of humanitarian policy, Nikolay Tomenko, spoke in support of public discussion of the edict.

On May 18, Ministry of transportation and communication ratified the registration scheme of all kinds of web-media.

The web-recourses containing any prohibited information appealing to the revolution will not be registered in the National Register. The web-sites appealing to war, genocide, terrorism, violation of human rights, racism, and discrimination of all kind will not be registered as well.

The applications will be accepted by the administrator of the National register of web-recourses.

The owner of the web-resource will have to pay for state registration.

In case of violations, the registration will be prohibited.

On March 17, 2004, the Cabinet published regulation about the National Register of web-recourses signed by the premier of that time, Viktor Yanukovich.

Chervonenko will dismiss all directors

The minister of transportation, Evgeny Chervonenko, said that the whole Ukrainian railways director’s staff will be dismissed.

"Concerning criminal cases there must be the competent conclusion of expert organs when the results of the last audit will be examined thoroughly," said Chervonenko.

Semenyuk will arrange the contest for exchanges

The State Property Fund is going to unite all privatization exchanges sale in one exchange in the nearest future, the head of the State Property Fund, Valentina Semenyuk informed.

"It will be a contest in order to choose the one exchange," said she on Thursday.

According to her words, the corresponding decree will be passed soon.

Eight exchanges and 28 banks serve the State Property Fund, "Interfax-Ukraine" reported.

"The question is why we have the exchange for every bank instead of having the single exchange for all banks. Nowadays, every oligarch has its own bank," stated Semenyuk.

The criminal case against “Ukrzalyznytsa”

The Office of General Prosecution incited the criminal case about illegal transferring of 3.000 special carriages (32billion $) to the chartered fund of one of Donetsk Company committed by "Ukrzalyznytsa" (Ukrainian Railways Lines), the Office of General Prosecution press-cutting service informed. The criminal case is instituted according to article 364, part 2 of the Crimi9nal Code of Ukraine.

Three officials of "Ukrzalyznytsa" and South Western railways lines were arrested because of suspicion in putting obstacles in the investigation process. The investigation will go on. The names and details of the investigation are closed information.

Yushchenko was confered the rank of honorary citizen of Mukachevo

On yesterday’s session the deputies of Mukachevo city council (Transcarpathian region) decided to confer the rank of honorary citizen of the city to the president of Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko.

Along with the president the following deputies got the same rank: Roman Bezsmertny, the main territory administrator of Ukraine, Ivan Ivancho, the people’s deputy, Victor Baloga, the people’s deputy and the governor, Yurij Gorobets, the people’s deputy.

We remind, the Sevastopol city council conferred the rank of "Honorary citizen of the city-hero Sevastopol" to then president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma. However, later they tried to deprive Kuchma of this rank.

Sheckley is going to leave Ukraine

Sheckley is going to leave Ukraine

Today American writer, Robert Sheckley, will be transported to the USA. The writer, escorted by his daughter, Ann, and two doctors of "Boris" clinic, will be delivered to Frankfurt and then to New York, "Segodnja" reported. Some seats of the plane will be removed, in order to make the plane suitable for ill writer transportation.

The ambulance of "Maunt-Sinai", the largest Jewish clinic in New York, will meet Sheckley in the airport. Sheckley’s family decided to transport the writer to the USA, the writer was agree with the decision.

The transportation became possible when big Ukrainian businessman had paid for it (4.400$) and for the treatment in "Boris" clinic (9.400$). Russian and Israeli fans transferred large sums of money to Sheckley’s bank account, Ukrainian account was given only 186.8$.

The experts of the Resuscitation Institute and the doctors of "Boris" clinic characterized Sheckley’s condition of health as stable one. So, the writer should not be suffered from the flight.

Yanukovich is called to give testimonies

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine invited the ex-prime minister of Ukraine, ex- presidential contender, the leader of Party of Regions, Victor Yanukovich, to give testimonies. The press-service of Ministry reported about it.

According to the article 11, part 3 (about rights of police officials) of Act of Ukraine "About police", Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine invites Victor Yanukovich to the MIA Kiev Department on fight with organized crime for giving testimonies concerning the criminal action, brought according to the article 210, part 2 and the article 211, part 2 of Criminal Code of Ukraine on the fact of illegal decision of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 17.06.2004 about delivery of 4.8 million UAH to Donetsk regional state administration for purchase of special  equipment for International airport "Donetsk".

International airport "Donetsk" is the municipal ownership of Donetsk regional council.
