Victor Yushchenko to solve the problem on the domestic oil market

The president of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has suggested compromise concerning the regulation of current situation on the domestic oil market. According to him, there is a possibility to reach agreement with Russia in case Ukraine makes its position concerning price formation "more clear." With this purpose, the meeting is to be held on Thursday, including all the interested sides, MIGnew.com.ua reported.

"I am certain that there is a possibility to agree with the Russian counterparts if Ukraine makes its position more foreseeable, expectable, and clear in such a delicate issue as price formation," Yushchenko underlined on the board of the plane while returning from Warsaw.

The head of state stressed that the way how the Ukrainian team had managed the issue of the price formation desired to be much better. "I would like to invite Russian entrepreneurs who deal with the supply of raw oil, oil products, as well as the managers of oil refineries, including the representatives of private plants, to get down to business from the very beginning," emphasized Yushchenko.

He pointed out that "the both sides took measures that harmed mutual reputation, as well as the organization of an appropriate market… Although, today we have already witnessed the history of the very problem, and thus I would like to devote our meeting to the handling of these issues," said the president.

"The Russian side promised to represent its standpoint which would help to solve the very conflict," said Yushchenko and emphasized that the key goal to be reached by the Ukraine’s government now is "to provide quick solution for optimization of the situation on the domestic oil products’ market."

The changes of the petrol tariff rate

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the law introducing the changes into the customs-tariff touching upon the petrol import duty and the oil tariff rates.

310 deputies voted for it. 

Before, the people’s deputy Oleg Salmin, the author of the bill draft, coming out in Verkhovna Rada, explained the points of his project for the solution of the petrol crisis in Ukraine.

In particular, the draft provides for to cancel the state import duty on the light oil and to reduce the oil import tariff rates.

The Meeting of the Committee Ukraine – NATO

The meeting of the High-Level Joint Work Group Ukraine-NATO on War Reforms has started today in Brussels.

Ukrainian delegation is headed by the assistant secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Sergey Pirozhkov, "UNIAN" reported.

The discussion about reformation in the security and defense sphere within the Profound Dialog with NATO on the Membership will be on the agenda.

Besides, the organization and preparation for the meeting of the Committee Ukraine-NATO at the minister of defense level will be discussed on.

The participants intend to consider the further ways of widening the collaboration between Ukraine and Alliance in the sphere of reorganization of Ukrainian security sector. The great consideration will be given to the possible reorganization of the High-Level Joint Work Group into the organ consulting on the planning and coordination of the reformatting process in the security and defense sphere of our country.

Akhmetov ignored confrontation

Confrontation connected with the Kolesnikov’s case, on which Rinat Akhmetov was invited, did not take place.

Law machinery investigates a new fact, on which the head of Donetsk regional council has not been arraigned yet.

Akhmetov was supposed to come to General Office of Public Prosecutor to meet with the director of "Zolotoy skif" (Golden Scythian) Fund, who had the meeting with Victor Yanukovich before. Confrontation failed as Rinat Akhmetov did not arrive in Kiev.

Verkhovna Rada decided to appeal to Piskun

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made a decision to appeal to the prosecutor general Svyatoslav Piskun concerning the cases of Boris Kolesnikov and Ivan Risak. 277 people’s deputies voted for this decision, ForUm’s correspondent reported.

As reported before, the factions of Social Democratic Party of Ukraine and Party of Regions were blocking the tribune of VR demanding to include in agenda the appeal to Piskun concerning the cases of the ex-governor of the Transcarpathian region, Ivan Riza, and the head of the Donetsk regional council, Boris Kolesnikov. Later deputies fulfilled the factions’ demand.

At the moment it is being conducted a protest action organized by the "Pora" with the support of various organizations, which demand to introduce a single tax for all small entrepreneurs, ForUm’s correspondent reported.

About several hundreds of people take part in the action.

WTO will do Ukraine good

The minister of economy Sergey Terekhin is convinced that Ukraine will join WTO this year. He declared about it speaking out in parliament, ForUm’s correspondent reported.

According to the minister, only 5% of uncoordinated positions have remained in Ukrainian legislation, which are needed to be agreed for joining WTO. He also admitted that it remained to get the statements about absence of claims to Ukraine from two countries.

Terekhin reported that 95% of all trade operations in the world are conducted by the WTO countries-members. Ukraine finds itself in remaining 5%.

The minister is convinced that, having joined WTO, Ukrainian manufacturers will be protected from antidumping campaigns, and World Trade Organization will also do Ukrainian village good.

The USA has reconstructed South Ukrainian APP

Replacement of data-processing system was finished in the second power-generating unit of the South Ukrainian APP.

The reconstruction of the data-processing system was taking place in the framework of technical support project in the field of nuclear safety which was organized by the USA.

During the reconstruction a decision to use the part of the system equipment presenting safety parameters was accepted. This equipment was earlier rendered by the American company to the third power-generating unit of the South Ukrainian APP. Such partial replacement gave the opportunity to reduce the expenses by 2,5 billions USD, "UNIAN" reported.

The same reconstruction of the first power-generating unit was done in 1998. The specialists of the APP dealing with the American equipment for 7 years pointed to the high technical reliability of it.
