Konovaluk will head the party “Labour Ukraine” and will lead it to opposition

Members of VIII convention of "Trudovaya Ukraina" or "Labour Ukraine" party elected unanimously the people’s deputy Valery Konovaluk to be the head of the party, ForUm’s correspondent reported.

New elected leader considers that the party should switch to the constructive opposition to the new power and to form "the government of ‘Labour Ukraine’".

Speaking on the convention, Konovaluk said it is necessary to recruit the known professionals, who will be able to increase the party’s popularity and to make it an all-sufficient power, which can influence events happening in the country, UNIAN reported.

He has suggested to form "the government of ‘Labour Party’", which will analyze the activity of Cabinet and will propose its own decisions in case if Cabinet’s actions do not correspond the vision of Labourists.

Konovaluk also suggested to work out a complex program of social-economic development of the state for five years.

At the same time Konovaluk criticized the first steps of the new power. He considers that the change of authoritative elites happened in Ukraine and nothing more. The principles of the former power remained. Victor Yushchenko’s promises concerning overcoming of corruption, unemployment and many other things have not been kept till now.

In his speech Konovaluk paid great attention to the future parliamentary elections. He proposed a resolution about preparing to the future election campaign. The convention charged Konovaluk to renew the faction of "Labour Ukraine" in the parliament.

Litvin “forgot” about three deputies – duel jobholders

Regulations committee of Verkhovna Rada prepared the documents concerning 22 out of 33 deputies, who illegally combine the job in parliament with the job in executive authorities.

For legal investigation the applications of the chairman of Verkhovna Rada concerning every deputy are needed.

According to Vasily Gavriluk, the deputy chief of the committee, Vladimir Litvin, the speaker of Verkhovna Rada, showed a strange selectivity, brought into court the cases of 19 deputies only and "forgot" three persons – the minister of finance, Pinzenik, the head of Security Service of Ukraine, Turchinov, and the secretary of National Security and Defense Council, Poroshenko.

GUUAM can replace CIS

The organization GUUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbadzhan, Moldova) will not object to joining of Russia.

The minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvily declared about it in Kishinev, where the GUUAM Summit takes place, RIA "Novosty" reported.

"There is no need to think about whether GUUAM will be an alternative to CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). CIS has no future," said Zurabishvily.

According to the head of MIA, the organization GUUAM is based on the principles of democratic values. "GUUAM countries-members are united by common political and economic aims," said Zurabishvily.

Timoshenko has been returned the post of the vice-premier of Ukraine

echersky district court of Kiev abolished the illegal decision about removal Julia Timoshenko from the post of vice prime minister of Ukraine of January 19, 2001, the press-service of Cabinet reported to ForUm.

In particular, the point is that there was illegal formulation of reason of Timoshenko’s removal from the post: "Julia Timoshenko is relieved of her post of the vice prime minister of Ukraine in connection with institution of criminal proceedings against Julia Timoshenko and decision of General Prosecutor of Ukraine of January 15, 2001."

Pechersky district court decided to unfile this motivation from the presidential edict of January 19, 2001.

In 2003 Supreme Court of Ukraine examined and dismissed the suit of Julia Timoshenko concerning this question.
