Two habitants of the tent town in Mariinsky Park have been beaten

The deputy chief of the organization "Ukraine regions Youth union"” Igor Khohich reported to ForUm that two habitants of the tent town, placed in Mariinsky Park, have been beaten unmercifully.

According to Khohich, "yesterday in 00:30, when the 29-year-old man was returning to the tent town, unknown persons beat him". "The man is in hospital now; his leg has been badly injured, the nose has been broken, there is a possibility of concussion of the brain".

Approximately at 8:15 p.m. another man, the 19-year-old habitant of the tent town was also beaten. "Unknown persons met him near the tents, saw the inscription "Yanukovich" and struck him with a stone. His state is satisfactory now," declared Khohich.

Tabachnik was involved in criminal activity

Office of Public Prosecutor of Podolsky district of Kiev brought a criminal action in connection with the illegal transfer of a lot on the Dnepr bank to the public organization "International creative center of Yan Tabachnik" by the joint-stock company "Kiev river harbour", reported Department of State service on fight with economic crimes.

According to data from the Department, officials of "Kiev river harbour" forged the protocol of the meeting of the company’s administration, according to which, the Kiev city council terminated the accommodation right of "Kiev river harbour" on the lot measuring 6.4 hectares, which is valued at 10.3 million gryvnas and transferred it to the public organization "International creative center of Yan Tabachnik" for rent for the period of 25 years for the construction, operation and service of the elite club "I have the honour".

As a result of this criminal activity, the "Kiev river harbour" caused the Kiev city community damage in the amount of more than ten million gryvnas .

Are there any political persecutions in the sphere of culture and art?

The minister of culture of Ukraine Oxana Bilozir, speaking in the parliament, declared that Victor Prihodko has been dismissed from the post of the director of the film studio in the name of Dovzhenko.

Bilozir also named Mikhail Resnikovich, who was dismissed from the post of the general director and artistic chief of National academic theatre of Russian drama in the name of Lesya Ukrainka. The minister pointed out that a criminal action was brought against Resnikovich, but she did not specify what he was accused of.

More than 50 actors of the theatre appealed to the president of Ukraine with an open letter and asked to investigate the situation round the theatre.
They expressed a worry about the further fate of the staff in connection with examination started by General Office of Public Prosecutor exactly after elections, during which Resnikovich supported Victor Yanukovich.

Gongadze’s murder was advantageous to Russia and SDPU (u)

During the press-conference in Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the people’s deputy Alexander Volkov and journalist Vasyly Tugluk addressed journalist with the statement that the murder of Georgy Gongadze was advantageous rather to Russia and Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (united) than to Kuchma.

According to Tugluk, he made such conclusion after his personal journalistic investigation, ForUm’s correspondent reported.

According to Tugluk, on the basis of all materials concerning Gongadze’s case he came to the conclusion that Gongadze’s did not have time to vex Kuchma so much to force him to take extraordinary measures.

Also Tugluk underlined that if Kuchma and his subordinates liquidated Gongadze, they would have done the same with other scandal writing journalists.

Volkov and Tugluk admitted that they do not accuse anybody of this crime, but just point out an interested party.

Yushchenko became interested in cosmos

Victor Yushchenko charged with formation of Commission under the president of Ukraine charged with space activity.

This is said about in the presidential edict "About decision of National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine of March 14, 2005 ‘About principles of reformation of executive power central organs system’ of April 15, 2005".

In this connection, the secretary of National Security and Defence Council, Petr Poroshenko, is charged with the job of suggesting the draft of the commission’s regulations and staff in two-week term.

Ukraine will hold “Political Eurovision” in 2007

The next meeting of parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe may be hold in Kiev in 2007. The people’s deputy of Ukraine, vice-president of parliamentary Assembly of OSCE Igor Ostash declared about it, ForUm’s correspondent reported.

According to Ostash, conducting of this meeting in Kiev will be a good occasion for Europeans to see Ukraine after parliamentary elections. "This will be a political Eurovision in 2007," he said.

The head of Ternopol region council is arrested

Department of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Ternopol region detained the working chairman of regional council, Anatoly Zhukinsky.

The press-secretary of the minister of internal affairs reported that a criminal action is brought against Zhukinsky according to the article 191, part 5 of Criminal Code of Ukraine – despoilment of State property.

Verkhovna Rada refused to give security blanket to Soviet spy Suvorov

People’s deputies of Verkhovna Rada refused to support deputy’s inquiry concerning administration of security guarantees to "native of Cherkasskaya region" Vladimir Resun (also known under a pen-name Victor Suvorov).

Only 118 deputies, in the view of 150 necessary voices, voted for this suggestion, "Tribune" reported.

Vladimir Resun was born in 1947. He graduated Kalininsky Suvorov’s military college and Kiev troop commanding college. Later, after staff level service and completing studies at the Diplomatic Military Academy in 1974, he served as a Soviet military intelligence GRU officer, working for four years in Geneva under diplomatic cover.
 
In 1978 Resun fled to Great Britain and was granted political asylum. In USSR he was sentence in his absence to be shot.

Vladimir Resun is an author of the bestsellers "Ledokol (Ice-boat)", "Aquarium" and also many books about history of WWII.
