Russian deputies do not like the new head of the State Property Funf of Ukraine

Today the president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has officially introduced new-appointed chief Valentyna Semeniuk to the staff of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

According to the press-service of the country’s leader, introducing Semeniuk, the president has underlined the necessity of working out a new policy of work of the Fund, and made several demands concerning the transparency of its work, UNIAN informs.

The president has stressed that the Fund’s leadership must be seriously changed, and he will personally supervise the new appointments in this structure.

Yushchenko has commissioned SPFU to work out 3-4 steps, which would form the basis of the future privatization policy of Ukraine.

Introducing Semeniuk, Victor Yushchenko has noted that the new leadership of the Fund must work “to return all the stolen to the state”, and it is necessary to conduct an inventory of the state property.

At the same time Victor Yushchenko has ruled out re-privatization and nationalization of property.

For her part, V.Semeniuk has promised to prepare her concept of the Fund’s work and to introduce it to the President within 7-10 days.

Russian deputies worry about the Fund’s intention to reconsider results of enterprises’ re-privatization.

Andrey Kokoshin, the chairman of State Duma Committee charged with CIS cases, declared that some Ukrainian industrial enterprises, which have Russian capital, are also subjected to re-privatization.

"The Fund’s intentions contradict the position of the Ukrainian president, announced on the meeting with Russian businessmen. Yushchenko declared there is no threat of re-privatization for Russian companies," Kokoshin pointed out.
