The official statement of the Our Ukraine Bloc

The official statement of the Our Ukraine Bloc

In the wake of the latest events, the press office of the Our Ukraine bloc published an offical stament:

“Running for the parliamentary election, the Our Ukraine Bloc proclaimed the principles of supremacy of law, democracy, freedom of speech, transparent power, corruption counteraction, fair and responsible policy. The results of the parliamentary elections have witnessed our consecutive position on making democratic changes in the society and European and Euro-Atlantic integration that have proved their efficiency for the last year and a half. We have exposed these principles in the draft coalition agreement we had submitted to our future coalition partners.

Today we should state that the negotiations have reached a deadlock. The reason is an ultimatum position of the Socialist party of Ukraine and the BYuT that have put their personal ambitions above the will of Ukrainian people. The Our Ukraine does not accept a language of ultimatums and relies just on the results of voting on March 26, 2006.

The Our Ukraine bloc will continue to stand for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, joining the WTO, introduction of a right for land property, ensuring energy independence of Ukraine, introduction of a principle of collective nature and accountability of the government’s activity.

Other participants of negotiations have not accepted the last point.

We are convinced that only these principles that underlie a coalition agreement are capable to ensure an existence of a stable parliamentary majority, formation of an efficient and responsible power and create conditions for introduction of social and economic transformations in Ukraine.

Therefore the Our Ukraine bloc addresses the political forces that won the parliamentary elections with an appeal to sit at a negotiating table and bear responsibility for the activity of legislative and executive power.

Any delay is a disrespect of the Ukrainian people’s choice and its aspiration for fast and efficient transformations in economy and political life.”

Germany to cooperate with any coalition formed democratically and legaly in Ukraine

Germany to cooperate with any coalition formed democratically and legaly in Ukraine

German political scientists suggest that so-called wide coalition (OU and PR) may be built in Ukraine. It will happen if the orange one completely fails. Köln University Professor Gerhard Simon voiced such opinion.

Earlier, German political circles supposed that a coalition and the Cabinet would be orange. Lots of things pointed to this very fact. Meanwhile, German’s government and politicians state that they are ready to carry on dialogue with coalitions of different kinds, particularly with coalition of Our Ukraine and the Party of Regions, Lubomyr Petrenko, Deutsche Welle correspondent told.

“German government and German politicians are not aimed at a certain format of coalition. They will accept any democratically and leally formed coalition,” stressed Mr. Simon.

In conclusion, he mentioned that a wide coalition in Ukraine may have more serious consequences than in Germany.

Our Ukraine are free in its further actions

Roman Zvarych: Our Ukraine are free in its further actions

“The negotiation process is at deadlock. The language of ultimatum used by our partners has lead to it. We do not perceive such methods of talks and reckon that the current format of negotiations is absolutely futile now,” Roman Zvarych stated Tuesday to the journalists.

“At the same time we realise that Ukrainian people get really tired of talks about the coalition. We want our partners to clearly answer to a simple question of Ukrainian nation: do we form a coalition for separate leaders to get corresponding posts or for purpose to realise program targets of the coalition?” emphasised Zvarych.

“Ukrainians have made their choice. Now we must distribute the posts in accordance with this choice and provide for implementation of the program basis. Our Ukraine does not accept any other variants of out-of-coalition agreements which may resolve cadres’ issue in some risky ways,” said Zvarych.

According to him, “if certain political force or personality wants to take on responsibility and to form a coalition, it must avoid ultimatum language. If this political force cannot do it, so, we are willing to take on responsibility and to nominate a candidate for PM office.”

“Anyway the coalition must be formed. We always demonstrated the constructive approach but in the wake of deadlock situation, we have informed our partners that now we are free in our actions,” concluded Zvarych.
